Re: nintendo ds will not power up.

Video game batteries only live for a while, most 10 years unless abused. Its possible your DS was beaten during its shipping life or possibly water damage. All you can really do it have the battery replaced. Your warranty should cover it if it is still applicable.

If the unit does not turn on at all (no green light) then the chances are you have blown the F2 fuse...

This fuse is internal and is less than 2mm wide on its longest length.

If you have a warranty I would suggest you send it off for repair, if not you can either find a good repair service on the net (such as ebay) or repair it yourself.

If you do decide to go down the D.I.Y route you will need a few specialist tools and some good soldering skills. As I said before the fuse is very small and so you will need a steady hand to replace it.

All the tools and parts can be found on ebay... If you would like some info on where the fuse is, what tools you will need and how to go about replacing it then click on my name to get to my profile page... from there you will see a list of guides I have written, all the info you should need will be in them.

If you need any further help or advice please feel free to contact me and I will help you out as best I can.

If your DS switches on briefly with a green light and a flash from the screens then one of your screens is faulty, could be a easy as re-seating the connection for it. If not changing the screen most often the top one.
If the orange light comes on when plugged in its probably the fuse called F1 on the motherboard. You can jump it out with a bit of wire to test it, then if that works change it.

My ds power light stays on red all the time its been on charge for ages what is wrong with it. thanks.

Sounds like a battery problem honestly. These batteries have problems with the cells in them going bad. Best way to know if its the battery, try another known working one in your DS. If it charges all the way and turns green, then you know its a problem with your original battery. If you put another known good battery in the DS and it doesn't charge it all the way up, then you know its a problem with the DS.

Putin in charger orange light flashes then goes off an doesnt cha

Your DS is either fully charged or the battery got damaged/wet. When you play the DS, is the light red or flash red? If it does, then the problem is with your battery.
Click on your country, then "System and Game Problems," then "Power and Battery Charging Problems."
Hope this helped.

Nintendo ds not charging

. go to ebay or even gamestop and purchase a new battery. sounds like the battery might have gave up. these kind of things happen, rare but happen

oither things it could be is a cold solder. the female power jack might not be fully soldered on the board. causing the battery not to be able to charge.

i think if you change the battery it will work. make sure you get the correct model/brand u dont want no knock off batterys
