What you are describing indicated the "code" is not set the same on both radios. Check your frequency, interference code eliminator and Qt filter (if any). All the settings must be identical between the two radios. If you are still having issues, set your code and Qt filter (if any) to zero (off) and then try it. Lastly, check your batteries. Bad or poorly charged batteries can cause transmit issues, as it takes more power to transmit than to receive.

How to pair Motorola T4508 with Oregon Scientific TP391 ?

From what we can tell the TalkAbout T4508 is a non-USA version of the T4500. The T4508 operates in a frequency range from 409-410 MHz. Unlike the USA version which operates between 462-468 MHz.

And it looks like the TP391 operates around 466 MHz. User Guide: http://de.oregonscientific.com/ulimages/manuals2/tp391_EN.pdf

This being said, your radios might not be compatible.

Talkabout T4500 (7 Channels) 2-Way Radio: A Motorola T4500 (small) walkie talkie makes a sta...

One of my T4500 radios does the same thing. When I transmit or the radio is receiving, the interval is interrupted and it takes another 12 seconds to make a popping noise. Weird! I tried to post this as a comment but FixYa kicks out an error so apologies for posting it as a solution!

My pair of t4508 handsets do not 'talk' to each other.

Check the programming of the frequency and interference code eliminator. Be certain they match one another exactly. Here is a link to the user's guide http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T4500_User_Manual_E.pdf

Also, check the battery contacts on both the radio and the battery for corrosion or film. Clean with a pencil eraser if needed.
