New 16GB SDHC class 6 card not recognized by my lumix TZ7

I get a 'card error' message when trying to use a 16GB SDHC class 6 card in my TZ7?

As far as i am aware this camera should be able to use these cards.
Is it just a case of initialiasing the card??
If so, how do i di that, as when i put the card in i can't access any menu's due to the permanent 'card error' message?

Matt

You a correct...your camera can use the card. Is the slide switch on the side of the card in the unlocked position? Go into the camera menu without the card and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. Then try to format the card again. Let me know what happened.

What make and model camera? Bear in mind that your 16GB card is actually an SDHC card, not an SD card. Some older cameras and card readers will only handle SD cards (2GB or smaller) and not the higher-capacity SDHC cards.

We may be able to recover the data for you. If it is a logical recovery, we can do it for as little as $59.95! We only charge if we are successful. If we cannot recover the data, we only charge you for return shipping.

Canon Legria HF200 SDHC Initialization problem

This totally sucks. I have a similar issue with my Canon Vixia HF R20 and I'm using a Lexar Pro 64Gb 133x SDXC card. When trying to initialize the card, its fails and says "Process terminated with error." It also says "check the memory card" when I first put it in. Write-protect is off. My other SanDisk class 4 SDHC card seems to work ok.
I could have sworn it worked before and I was able to transfer videos to my Mac on 10.6, but I can't remember for sure if I was using the SDXC card or just the built-in memory. Very frustrating.

SDHC Memory Card

Class 6 and 10 cards are high speed cards suitable for videos....they write fast and don't get hung up. With that said, I use a Sandisk class 2 and a class 4 and have never had a problem with either one.

I have a brand new JVC GZ-MS100 and a brand new card

The 32GB SDHC card may be a "class 4" card, not a "Class 6".

Look at the card and find the circle with a number in it.
Class 6 is the highest speed available. Class 4 is much slower and can't keep up with video.

Not all 32GB sdhc cards work with all camcorders.

Try formatting the card twice in the JVC.

Failure to initialize and use memory card SD/SDHC / canon fs100 camcorder

I had the same problem but fixed it by initializing the SDHC Card. It explains it in the manual. If you go to the menu and then down to the card it gives the option to initialize it. I did that for all my cards and now they work fine. Hope that helps...
