The game does not start

My wife unplugged the PS2 to plug in something else into the outlet. When my son plugged his PS2 back into the outlet, the unit shows that the power is on but the game will not start.

Try to check the power cable if it is connected properly. unplug it and plug it again. if you getting a blue screen and NO browser, the system is probaly damaged, either try another AV cord to plug into tv, if that doesnt work then its something internal.

I suggest that you restart your PS2 including your game CD.

refer to your user manual for some technicalities if still doesn't work OR go to www.sony.com for more details.

Hi

it may not be about the power but rather the pwer cable. is it plugged correctly? do you see any changes in the power cable? have you tried to take out the disk and put it back again? have you tried any other disks?

you may find that if you just try any of the troubleshooting said above, it might work again.

just post here again for what happens.

hope this helps

PS2 - when my son went to turn on the console he shocked it (static) and now it won't turn on. Is there anyway to reset it?

i dont know that much about playstation but shock on a small system like that can fry it but if you unplug everything from the system for a day and plug it back in to try it this might work. Or you can get him a PS3 for christmas if you get the first version of the PS3 it can play PS2 games so you dont waste his games.

My ps2 wont turn on

check to see if the adapter is working and that it is plugged in properly. if it is, your cord connecting your motherboard to your ps2 might be unplugged. to do this you need to open your ps2 ENTIRLY and plug it back in.

My son has a ps2 slimline and wants to play on the internet. We have a linksys wireless routher already. Can the slimline be set up to use that or do we need something else

should be able to use linksys but i always just plugged in with a direct ethernet cord connection. you also have to have the online setup disk for ps2 which should have come with the ps2 slimline. just install disk and follow instructions from there! GOOD LUCK!

try this:
- it might be static electricity, so completely power off the PS2 and unplug from the wall and wait a couple minutes before plugging back in.

- your console might be over heating. if that's the case, then it's your fan.

to check the fan and everything else in your PS2,
go here and go to the very end.

Storm last night, now Wii won't power up

Unplug everything! There is a "breaker" in the power supply and it may need to be reset. Just unplug all cables from the TV and outlets. Let it sit for a couple hours then plug everything back in and it should work fine. If not then the power supply has shorted out due to a strong power surge. You can claim it under your home owners insurance or call Nintendo and try to get it replaced. Thanks! Good luck and happy gaming!!
