Aslong as it is thenunplugged for several hours it will work again for a period of time. The longer its unplugged the longer it will work. Your problem is no doubt in the stand by circuitry You will have to trouble shoot your set as this is a thermal issue and you will need to do the testing of the various components while it is experiencing the trouble to find the problem. Let me know if you wat a manual. I can provide a link where you can get one .

I have done some research, and the service manuals are not very user friendly. However There is a diagnostic program available to troubleshoot and repair The PTK169 chassis. This is very user friendly. You install it on your computer and you click on the symptom such as dead set and it shows the circuits and what to check for voltages it even shows diagrams of what the circuit board looks like and indicates the Parts. The link I am posting will take ou to the site. The program cost 25.99 which is cheaper than most service manuals and the site offers free support to help you with your diagnosing. They also have a feature where you can have your purchase emailed to you immediately if you return to the site and request that they email it instead of mail it to you. Here is the link . They indicated to me that they would post it on their front page of listings so you could find it easier if your interested in that program.

I have an RCA projection TV, model D52W19B. The TV powers on ok, stays on, and audio is normal. I don't get a picture. If I press the menu button, the menu will appear on the screen normally.

my guess is you either have a satellite or cable box try unplugging the system cable or satellite and set for 5 minutes and then plug them back and and restart the unit up and see if it comes back the gemstar module would some times lock up causing this problem . and please let me know if that get's you working or if there is more trouble shooting to be done
