  • I have possibly found a suitable magnet on a website for magnets in size so please answer all of my inquiry. The broken magnet is approximately .75 inches in diameter and .125 inches in thickness and the website has one but i would have to drill it and attach it. so please tell me if you know how the factory accomplishes this and maybe where they get their magnets manufactured for this speed sensor

  • all i need is a circular magnet and the proper attaching system ie: glue. putting a few gram magnet back on a shaft is not a hard or unsafe procdedure. this is a stupid answer to my problem and is not worth the 10 dollars i paid to get some intelligent answer to my problem. i did't even see any specifications on the size and gauss of the needed replacement item that i might already have a lead on if someone would answer that part of the post.

  • model ksb3wh4 serial Wp3803548 3 speed kitchen aid blender ithink gorrila glue should give enough hold and when it expands will lock the magnet to th larger diameter section of the shaft just above it

  • the speed plate is for the mixer not the blender but i really appreciate the help and yes i think a clear 2 part epoxy will be a better choice for the metal to magnet metal bond.I couldn't get the first service manuel site from mending shed to download. my computer said it was loaded (32 pages) but all were blank i have my owners manueal which is totally worthless for this problem. i called kitchen aid and they sent me to my local authorized repair which couldn't help me.

  • yes upgrading my adobe from 6.1 to 8.1 did the trick but that is the manual for the mixer motor not the blender. finding the blender motor diagram is still a problem

I bought a Kitchenaid KSB5K3 at a yard sale. It worked until my husband replaced the worn out rubber coupling that spins the blade. Now it wont turn on. I hate to send it to the landfill if someone can use it or parts of it, like the magnet you're looking for.

Ohhh. that may be true, what the technician said is true, that you may need to buy a whole new motor.

but to be practical, you can ask some repair shops iof they have that specific part because it may be a hassle to buy a new replacement right? and buy a 2nd hand replacement for that instead.

hope this helps....

BTW, for safety precautions, always choose the best possible way to fix the problem, thing both ways.

if you buy a brand new replacement it would be safer than to look for that specific item for your blender....the other wieght also based on practicality, why waste big bucks for a small part that you can patiently wait for anyway, you might find it from any repair shops right?

HERE.....we always try to do the SAFEST way for the consumers...resolve the problem as much as we can do.

thats nice to hear that you found a magnet of the same size, however with the drilling part, thats not a problem since you only have to drill it, you can bring that to a shop somewhere and have it custom drilled, preferably a diamond tip drill will do the job nicely. there are no real diamond tipped drills there though so just ask for an alternative that nearly does the job.

    hope you can fix that.

Broken magnet of a Kitchen Aid Blender. Where can I find another one? KSB5WH4

From Kitchen Aid they only come on a new motor. I am a Kitchen Aid service agent and I remove them from burnt out motors and keep them. Look for a service agent near you and see if they can help you out. I have no idea where you are, I'm in New Zealand.

Any ideas how I remove both the mixing bowl & blade that won't release from my hardly used (maybe 10x's) Kitchen Aid Food Processor?

It sounds like the blade has become jammed on the motor shaft sleeve. You will be up for a new blade and motor shaft sleeve to sort that out. They are not expensive and it is the only proper fix for them. If you replace nothing it will happen again pretty much straight away and if you only do one the other damaged part will wreck the new part. To solve the not turning on problem which is a separate issue it will very likely involve replacement of either the bowl or the lid. One is as likely as the other, I have both parts in stock so I try one or the other to decide which one is the problem. Getting the blade off is a real chore, I have a small chain (with welded links so very strong) I put a couple of turns around the big blade shaft and fix it there with a shackle. It's about 2.5 meters long so I attach the other end to the leg of my bench and accelerate the motor unit away from the bench. The chain comes tight and shocks the blade off. I then drill a hole through the motor shaft about 8 mm from the top, attach the chain to that with a shackle and shock it off just like the blade. New parts now and job done.

My blender motor doesn't work. I don't know what happened. Just tried it one day and it didn't work. Any suggestions?

Remove the bottom cover (unplug the power first) and check the motor for continuity. If it is open circuit check the thermal fuse which will be taped over against one of the field windings close to a brush holder. You can either replace or bypass the fuse if that is the case. Kitchen Aid will only be recommending full motor replacement but it most often it's not really necessary.

Problem with soup mate, all lights flashing but nothing happening

If this is a Kitchen Aid blender with the flashing lights then you will need to remove the motor base cover and check the motor for a circuit. If it is open circuit then either replace the motor or locate the thermal fuse (under some white tape and aluminium clip on one of the field windings) and either replace or bypass fuse if it is open circuit.

Changing the coupler

Lever it off with a screwdriver, it is aluminium and the threads on the ring will break away. Pick them out of the thread on the motor shaft and screw on a new coupling, it will be left hand thread.

Magnet is not available as a separate part, you need to buy a new motor and be more careful in the future.

Check for loose connections from mains cable to PCB and from PCB to motor. Check motor for circuit continuity, it may need a new motor, it is rarely the PCB.

When I turn my blender on, it runs for only a few seconds, then stops and all the lights on the panel flash on and off.

More often than not it will need the motor to be replaced, only Kitchen Aid parts will do, motors are usually unique to brands and models. Sometimes it can be the control/button panel but normally the motor.
