Re: belt installin

Take off the bottom plate, then look to see if there 2 screws holding the top cover on, there is a slot on each side of the top cover (from the bottom). Using a flat bladed screwdriver, put the belt in the slot and pry up to release the locking tabs. Watch out for the knob, it will come off when you tak the cover off. Put the belt on the brush roll, then feed it thru the slot and attach it around the motor shaft. Then put back together.

I have a kenmore stylite retraxx vac. That needs a belt.does any one know what style or number belt I need? Please help

Go to and enter the model number of your vacuum. Then you'll be able to find the specific belt which goes with your model. If it's the Model #21637020700, then the belt is part number 1CKD208000, and costs $3.29.

I need a replacement belt for Hoover Elite upright vaccum ,model no. U5043-930. What belt do I get?

Your vacuum cleaner originally came with Hoover belt part number 38528027, however Hoover has now discontinued this part number, and replaced this belt with the new belt which is part number 38528040.

The new belt is a little bit smaller then your old one, but unfortunately this is the only belt that Hoover currently makes that will fit your model.

Here's a direct link to our website if you still need to purchase one:

I have also uploaded the parts diagram and instruction manual for you. The parts diagram gives you every single part number for all parts on your vacuum should ever need to know another part number. The owners manual will give you step by step instructions on how to change the belt, as well as other maintenance instructions.

Part Diagram for Hoover U5227-930:

Owners manual is actually for the commercial version of your vacuum, but this will be identical to your instruction manual which Hoover doesn't have available for free:

What Model replacement belt do I need for the Eureka model 2961 BVZ?

According to the Eureka Part diagram for your particular model vacuum, your vacuum uses Eureka Style U Belts. Eureka makes actually 2 different styles of U belts.

The first style is the standard U belt, Eureka part number 54312. This belt is probably the one that came standard on your model. You may purchase this belt from the link below;

The other type of Style U belt that will fit your model is the Eureka Extended Life Style U Belt, Part 61120B. The Extended U belt is more durable, and lasts longer then the Eureka Standard U belt. You may purchase the Extended U belt here;

Now, if you are quite sure how to change your belt, you may visit the link below to see the owners manual for your Eureka 2961BVZ that will give you step by step instructions on how to change the belt;

I really hope that this was helpful to you in finding and fixing the belt for your Eureka. If you did find this helpful, please be kind and rate my repair solution as helpful by clicking the thumbs up icon in the lower right hand corner below. I really do appreciate it, thank you.

Feel free to request a repair clarification if you have any questions about the procedure of installing the belt on your Eureka, I'll be happy to help.

You need top lace belt on brush roller and re[-assemble by putting plastic cover on which is retained by 2 recessed philips screws.. Prize off triangular coverat fornt.behing that you should see the belt lying loose.You need to get a blunt object to twist and push belt ovet the motor shaft. You may get it on in wrong direction and if you do,loosen off belt and twist the other way.

Generic problem for all Vacuums

Older Oreck XL, new belt, new bag, checked for clogs, does not pick up
as it used to, and, much harder to push, seems to grab or drag, why????

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There are a couple of things that may work. Depending on if you have the old style brushroll you can upgrade to a new style Oreck brushroll that has twice the brushes and will a work a lot smoother. Also, clean the bottom plate – get rid of any dust and dirt build up and then spray the bottom with silicone and let it dry after you have totally cleaned it. Always use Oreck genuine belts and to change the belt every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning and store the extra Oreck belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator, other wise if you have a new belt, gag, you have checked for clogs there is no reason why it should be hard to push, if the silicone does not work replace the bottom plate. Brush won't spin

Yes it could be the belt or the "Bearing Assembly". I had the same problem with a vacuum I got from a friend. 1st I replace the belt,but when I turned the vacuum on I could smell something burning and then the belt broke in half. I then realized the brush roller was stuck in place and would not turn even with force applied. I later found out that 1 of the 2 Bearing Assembly's was worn out,when a Bearing Assembly is worn out the brush roller can not spin. So now it looks like I need to buy a whole new brush roller,unless I can find a place that sells the Bearing Assembly for part number 61445-1,which is a roller brush for a GE Wal Mart vacuum.
