Re: i have a netgear wgt624v2 and i can't get to connect...

You are having problems with your encryption settings.

Remove the old settings from your operating system.

After this look for wireless connections.

Then click on your network.

Your operating system will now ask for the security key. Enter your keyword and connect. If web is the only problem then everything must work now.

HOW do i use wps on my ipad with WNR2000

Depending on your browser, download or display the pdf of the WNR2000 manual ( ). The manual might also be found on the CD that came with the router.Follow instructions Chapter 2 Page 7 to enable/setup WPA2-PSK (AES).Make sure you SAVE/APPLY the settings before proceeding. Follow instructions Chapter 2 Page 17 to Disable Router's PIN. When you do, make sure you leave the box checked to "Keep Existing Wireless Settings".Make sure you SAVE/APPLY the settings before proceeding. Here's a work-around ff the above doesn't fix the issue for you. Sorry I don't have iPad-specific instructions, but I don't have access to an iPad/iPhone at the moment. I've done the following on iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets, Windows phones and PC's - it works on virtually all Wi-Fi-capable devices..:
Instead of letting your iPad find the network and trying to connect with the password, try manually creating a new Wi-Fi network connection by typing in your Wi-Fi network name (SSID), selecting WPA2 (AES) encryption and entering the Wi-Fi password your configured in STEP 2 above. Please note: You'll have to forget the Wi-Fi network in your iPad's settings if you keep your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) the same as it is currently.

How to secure my wireless router

    • 1 Connect your wireless router per the instructions in your user manual.
    • 2 Open your Internet browser and enter the IP address assigned to your router. Major manufacturers assign different default IP addresses to their routers. For example, Netgear routers use while Linksys uses Consult your manual for details.
    • Sponsored Links
    • 3 Log in to your router configuration by typing the username and password specified in your manual.
    • 4 Set your Service Set Identificatier (SSID) by typing it into the box. This is the name of your wireless network. Make it a unique phrase; the default SSID is usually the name of the router manufacturer, such as Netgear or Belkin.
    • 5 Set your wireless network's security protocol to WPA 2.0 -- Wi-Fi Protected Access. This encrypts any data sent over the network and allows access only to users who have the security key. Set your security key as something not easily guessed. A string of random numbers and letters is recommended. Be sure to record this security key in a safe place so you can recall it when adding a new device to your network or changing network security settings.

Trying to get my playstation 3 online but it asking for WPA KEY. I dont know what it is.

This key is the security phrase (or characters) that you have to write down in order to connect the playstation with the Wireless Network (Wi-Fi) at the place you are. Either you can ask for this WPA KEY the from the person that set up the Wi-Fi or you can use a pc already connected at this router in order to go to the router's settings page / Wi-Fi / security and read the WPA KEY by yourself.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Cant seem to connect to WFC for a dsi game

Hi gabrielsa544,

Welcome to Fixya. Nintendo Dsi/DS/Ds XL connects to the internet using wireless connection. You need to know the settings of your router. I've listed below the steps on how you will access the router and to obtain the information needed for you to be connected.

How to access the Router:

To access the router page just open a browser then type, the Default username is blank and the password is admin. Go to the Wireless Tab check you Network Name or SSID. On the Security Mode you can check the security if you're using either WEP or WPA. Then you need to remember the Netowrk Key you can also personalize your Network Key. The Network Key serves as a password on your network to make it secure. Then Save the settings

Take Note of the SSID and the Network Key

Now that we already know the setting of the router then its now time to connect the Dsi to the network.

1. Go to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings of the Game

2. Search for an Access Point (SSID)

3. Select your Network (SSID), If you have an open network, just click "OK" and it should work just fine! If it's a Red Padlock, it'll prompt you for a Password or Network Key. This is the reson why we access the router.

4. Test the Connection

Thanks for using Fixya.

My ds lite cant connect to my netgear WGR614because it says its security settings are not supported by the ds

Hi eporre1,

If you're receiving that error message we need to access the Wireless Settings Page of your Router to change some settings. Keep in mind that if we change the settings of your wireless connection other machine that is connected to the network will be disconnected due to the new settings, so take note of the settings that we will be changing.

To access your router you need to use a computer that is connected to it. Open a Browser then type or The Default username is admin and the password is password. Password is case sensitive.

Go to the Wireless Settings Page try changing the encryprion to WEP 64bit and generate a Network Key. Remember the network key so that if you have laptops that are connected and will lose the connection that is the password that you need to input. If WEP 64bit wont work try WEP 128bit or WPA you can also disable the Security however you network can be access by others.

4. Test the Connection. If you have questions put a comment here.

Rate me if this helps so I can hep others. Thanks for using Fixya.
