I have a sattelite pro m15. ac adapter went bad, replaced it , worked for a month, quit charging. repalced the ac adapter with another ( all where factory replacements) but no go. took it in and was told it was the plug in and no they wouldn't work on it. got the plug in out, it seems okay. when I have the adapter not plugged in the light is on the brick and reads around 15 volts. when I plu it into the computer voltage goes to 2.5 volts and no light ( or just a flicker) on the brick. any ideas?

Disconnect the adaptor and remove the battery from your notebook. Then connect the power adaptor and see if it boots up. If it powers up OK now you may have a bad battery. If the notebook still will not power up, the adaptor may not be compatible or there may be a different hardware problem.
Most times when this is happening, it is the battery that makes the light do this. Ether your battery is (has) reached its end life or you have an after market battery that is not quite compatiable with you pc. If you are unable to get a charge on the battery, I would have the battery replaced. Be sure to use your pc seriel number to find the best replacement battery.
The AC Adapter has to be used which is compatible with the particular model of the Notebook. You can refer the User Manual came with the Notebook to know the exact model number of the AC Adapter. To confirm whether the AC Adapter is working or not you can check the LED light of the AC Adapter, if the LED is glowing then it is working fine.
The function of the AC Adapter is to charge the Battery of the Notebook.
You can also use the Notebook by connecting the AC Adapter while it is charging or when it is fully charged.

Related to your issue you also may consider this:
1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge. 2.- Battery is bad. 3.- Battery charger board is bad.
Solutions: 1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge
Verify that the AC and or DC cable is not bad by testing the computer only with the power plug connected and the battery out of the laptop. 2.- Battery is bad
It is possible that if the power plug is good that the computer battery is bad. Leave the computer connected to the power with the battery connected in the computer for at least one hour; if the battery does not charge, consider having the battery and/or the laptop serviced or repaired.
If the computer and/or battery is not in warranty consider just replacing the battery as it is very likely that it is just a bad battery. 3.- Battery charger board is bad
If the battery has been replaced or an alternate battery from an alternate identical laptop does not work in the computer, it is likely that the power or charger board within the laptop is bad. It is recommended that the laptop be serviced or repaired.
