USE THE PROCESS OF ELIMINATION. SWITCH THE RCA INPUTS AROUND AND IF THE PROBLEM STAYS IN THE SAME CHANNEL, THE THE AMPLFIER OR SPEAKER IS AT FAULT. IF THE PROBLEM SWITCHES TO THE OTHER SPEAKER, THEN THE PROBLEM IS THE RCA CABLE OR RADIO ITSELF. YOU CAN VERIFY YOUR FINDINGS BY STARTING WITH THE SPEAKERS FIRST. SWAP THE SPEAKERS AROUND AND IF THE PROBLEM STAYS ON THE SAME SPEAKER, THEN THE SPEAKER IS AT FAULT. IF THE PROBLEMS SWITCHES TO THE OTHER SPEAKER, THEN THE AMPLIFIER OR INPUTS ARE TO BLAME. BY FOLLOWING THESE TWO METHODS, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DETERMINE EXACTLY WHICH COMPONENTS ARE AT FAULT. REMEMBER, YOU HAVE AN INPUT, AN AMPLIFIER AND A SPEAKER. THIS PROCESS OF ELIMINATION WILL HELP YOU IN THE FUTURE WITH MANY TYPES OF PROBLEMS. IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT THE AMPLIFIER IS AT FAULT, IT WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. LET ME KNOW IF YOU REQUIRE FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V
PS: MAKE SURE THAT THE GAINS AND BOOST CONTROLS ARE SET TO THE SAME LEVEL FOR BOTH CHANNELS BEING TESTED. ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE BALANCE CONTROL ON THE RADIO IS STILL SET TO THE MIDDLE. DON'T WANT THESE CURVEBALLS INTERFERING WITH YOUR TROUBLESHOOTING......V

Analog Audio Out signal has very high distortion. Signal wanes in and out, wanders from one channel to another, and develops high static. This happens when Audio Out is configured for Fixed Output. When...

The problem is more likely to be with the wireless headphone set rather than the TV. It makes no sense that the signal changes channels. The only difference betweent he fixed and variable output is whether or not the volume changes the output signal amplitude. The channel selection process is not handled there. The distortion is likely due to the input of the wireless being overdriven. If available, turn down the input gain on the wireless and try again. Please update this with the results.

Thanks,
Dan

Lights are on but no bass is being played, went out after it got hot.

Blown High output resistors. Definately repairable. Good luck. If you can solder, try removing the high output resistors, replace them with parts from Fry's. Cheap fix. Good luck. Depending on the size of the amp, there will be about 6-10 of them. Check all channels on the amp.

Need to connect to a sound blaster live sound card for recording using sonar as recording program. hace had it in storage for sometime and can't remember what went where

This particular mixer offers a usb (2 channel connection) that can be simply plugged into the computer usb 2.0. These channels should be available in Sonar from the channel Input/output drop boxes. You may need to restart Sonar, the mixer or both for them to be recognized. You may also need to run the Wav Profiler in Sonar. Typically the Wave Profiler is found in the Options>Audio menu but may be different on each edition of Sonar. The above info is for Sonar 7.

If you are wanting to record several channels at once then I would recommend connecting your Mixer's Direct Outputs from each channel to a corresponding input of the soundblaster if your soundblaster supports multiple channels. And then use the usb outbut from the Sonar to monitor the computer playback of your master stereo channel. Or, you may connect the soundblaster outputs to unused channels of the mixer or to the tape return or auxilary inputs to monitor the computer playback on the mixer.

Alternately you can send the signal to your soundblaster via the buss outputs. This will limit the number of simaltanious output channels to the number of busses on the mixer, but you can send any mixer channel to any buss without unplugging the instruments or mics.

Here's the link to the page where you can download the free pdf manual for this mixer. Page 14 explains the output connections and has diagrams.

The left channel went out on my TX-SV343. Is it

If you are convinced the left channel is out, and have tried using the speaker B outputs with your front spkrs. to see if the left channel works or not.....i would suggest getting a new receiver. You would have a new receiver with a some sort of warranty, and an option to buy extended protection. Unless there is a sentimental value for you..then keep it and get an estimate. Hope this is helpful.

I went to unplugg the neg and possitive cord from a speaker. i accidently touched the positive and negative ends together. now my reciever just says stand-by when i turn it on? did i break my whole...

you ruined the audio output transistor(s) for that channel, can you still hear the other channel or is this also quiet,if so,then you will need to replace at least the channels transistors you said you shorted and then check opposite bank for transistor output leakage,if these outputs are (STR) output paks instead of the older oval paks, just replace the whole STR pak and this may be both channels on one SRT-pak on one chip

Amp won't power up,anymore! Even with new parts installed, removed

Hiya, dont have a diag either what you will have to try and is compare the left channel with the right. There will be 2 driver transistors (also likely on heatsink) close to the outputs. Check which driver drives which output on the left, then match it on the right. Those same drivers could very well also be a problem on the right as they often go with the outputs. There is a possibilty they have smoked again. See here to test FETS

Basically the left will match the right but not similar locations but definitely by track joins.

Also check the power resistors at the output. Often also go.

Hope that helps

Jl audio 500-5

Assuming that you've confirmed that the speaker is in good working order and that the wiring isn't shorted in any way...

There are separate power supplies for the high and low amplifiers. It's possible that the one for the sub output has failed. If that's the case, the output transistors probably failed and that's what damaged the supply.

Generally, I'm willing to help people repair their amps but this is a large, complex amplifier and it should be repaired by a qualified technician.
