Recording on vrdvd4005

Dear Diane
This problem is possible due to to aera going over to digital transmisstions
you will need to have a tv with digital tuner built in , if this so connect a scrat lead from your tv to to the scart socket on you dvd recorder , then with the remote control for the dvd select the scart in put this button maybe call input selector or source. in this condition you will only be able to record the progam that your are watching. if you tv does not have a digital tuner fitted you will need to obtain a digital box. If you purshase one with two scarts sockets then one can be connected to the dvd and one to the tv again only the programe being watcch can be recorded> two digital boxes will be required if a different programme than the one watched is requird to record. Hope this will Help Regards Derrick

I have a Toshiba VCR w522 and would like to record a program previously recorded from a DVR. Is it possible?

If the vcr has two scarts connect the DVR player to one and select that imput. Watch the program using the the other scart connected to the TV. Press record on the vcr and then start the DVR player going. If it doesn't have two scarts use the front panel jacks to connect the DVR player.
The only time you won't be able to record a program is if somekind of anti-copy system is employed.

How do i connect the vcr to the tv so it records on the channel i want. i tried recording but was a different channel. i do not have the remote for the vcr

If the TV has a scart socket and the vcr also, you can connect it that way, with a scart lead. Then all you need do is press the channel button on the VCR till it reads AV. There may be more than one AV socket so use the one with the connection of the scart lead, it should say on the scart socket what it is. IE: AV1. All you need do is set the channel on the TV you want to record, the press record.
You won't be able to watch another channel though while recording.
Some TV's with multi scart have options for AV settings or recording from the TV, so check these out.
Consider buying a universal remote.

How do i set up atv without inbuilt digital a seperate digital box and a video recorder?the tv digital tuner and video all have scart leads.Should the aerial cable go to the video or digital box?

Aerial to digi box first then video then tv (not strictly necessary)
Depending on what you want to do with the vcr and the digi minimum scart connection is
digi to video - video to tv

Humax DRT800 DVR recorder has no sound

Loss of sound is often a problem with the SCART connections. The SCART may not be pushed in securely, or if the SCART is old the pins may not be good. Check SCART is securely in, or try another SCART lead.

Cable hook-ups for TV, Satellite Box, DVD, VCR

Use SCART lead from Sat. box to VCR input( so you can record progs.) then another SCART lead from VCR output to TV set AV1 input. Connect DVD (player only I presume) direct to AV2 input of TV set using another SCART lead.
Hope all this works O.K.
Note:- If DVD is also a recorder then you don't need VCR as a recording device and leads will need to be altered accordingly, of course!!

Problems tuning TV and SLV-900

the video recorder has it's own tuner you do not actually record from the tv... think of the vcr as like a tv but without a screen... connect to your tv via a scart lead and while you are on the vcr's 'channel' (so you could see a tape playing on your tv) and access the menu on you vcr (not the tv's menu) choos auto tune if the vcr supports it or manual tune if it has no auto tune and tune in the required channels on your vcr... it is simply then a matter of selecting on your vcr which channel you wish to record

DVR, VCR & TV

You need to connect a scart lead between the TV and VCR, A Scart lead is a multi core (12 or 15 pin) cable with oblong shape connectors which just plug in to sockets on the device. If there is more than one scart socket on your device it should have a symbol IN or OUT or TV or SAT otherwise just experiment until you get the right connexion.
