Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, possible faults with the BAND switch, BAND HI LO switch, or any of the diodes in the matrix.

Offhand, perhaps the schematic diagram of the Band Board would help.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Galaxy 88hl

always check your swr's.. it should be fine with those settings.
90% amps 1 to 5watts input is fine and then the modulation wattage of yours is good. most can take 50w RMS.
use short coax jumpers.. make sure the radio doesn't have the modulation limiter cut. and it is on frequency. and it should be good. maybe try putting little bit of wd40 on the microphone switch to see if thats the crunching sound..??
also make sure you have enough amperage.. and a good heavy gauge power wire to the amp..
if you have any more details let everyone know.. may help narrow down a problem.

On my radio I need the settings for the knobs because other people can hear me but I only get static and cannot hear them. Thanks

Band should be E Band high/low button on high 10 khz off AM selected
To check that you have done this correctly frequency counter will read 27.185 plus or minus 5 khz. This is of course proved you have a radio that is converted for 11 meter cb frequencies.

What are the buts & nubs go to make the cb work which ones trun or push ?

Assuming you're talking about the Galaxy DX88HL, and assuming the mad has been done to reach the 11 meter band, you press the band button in, that put's you to the E-H banks, select the E/A bank which is high bank E. with the frequency counter on, it should read 26.965 for channel 1. If it reads 26.975, then your +10KHz switch is on, turn it off. you'll then be properly set for 26.965 (ch.1) - 27.405 (ch.40). You also have 5 "hidden" frequencies, these are at ch. 3, 7, 11, 15 and 19. To get to the "hidden" frequencies, go to any of the channels listed and turn on your 10KHz switch. Those frequencies are not attainable on radios that do not have a +10KHz switch or a clarifier capable of sliding that far over. To do repairs and for a full list of schematics, diagrams and so forth, I suggest this site, it has the most coverage of the Galaxy DX88HL as well as other galaxies that I've been able to find. http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/galaxy/dx88hl/index.htm .

I have a Galaxy DX44V I need channel 19 only what settings do i put all the switches on ex. high band / low band? e-tone? ect.

Hi, Has this radio been converted to CB? Galaxy 44DX is an import. I am going to say it probably has. Turn the third knob to the right to "AM". And the Fourth knob from the left all the way to the left to "E/E"
Here are two links that will explain it all for you as Galaxy imports are a different breed.

I need a instuction manual and freq. cheat sheet for my galaxy dx88hl.thanks Rod

To use this radio on the CB band, you set the 10 Khz switch to OFF, and then turn the band switch to A/E.

Here is a Frequency Chart.
Here is the manual.

When the 10 Khz switch is on OFF, the band switch is E,F,G,H. When the 10 Khz switch is in the ON position, then the band switch is A,B,C,D.

So when you are on band E, which is when the 10 Khz is OFF, and the band switch is in the first position, it is on the E band.

I would get your self a Frequency counter. It makes using a radio like that much easier.

Hope this helps!

Radio has 10 watts on side band

Readjust your load coil. You should never attempt this without a load and a watt meter.
