Question about Sony Dvcam DSR-PD150 DV Digital Camcorder

2 Answers

Color distortion I am a novice with this product. Anyway, when operating the camera there is a severe pinkish hue in the LCD display and recordings. I tried adjusting the white balance shift and color level, but these didn't correct the problem. Any suggestions other than bring it in for diagnostics and repair?

Sounds like the same problem that I have, I think it might be the Color CCD chips!

What could be the problem with my sharp aquos 42" tv displaying colour distortion picture with pinkish and tranparent white ghostly hues like an x-ray film?

Sounds like T'Con board fault. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My picture is pinkish and glossy

If the overall picture has a pinkish hue to it and skin colors appear to have pinkish blotches. White scenes have a pinkish hue to them then it is is likely the main display board, 6871QCH029A. This board is located next to the Y sustain board. Need to remove the tv from the stand to get to the main display board. I just fixed my Z50PX2D that had the pinkish hue to it by replacing the main logic board. Check ebay for boards.

Image has lines and pink in colour

This maybe two problems, the pink color hue in the picture and lines from lens shutter problems. Your LCD is still good. You have to replace motherboard and lens.

There is a sudden change in the hue of my lcd- acer aspire 4740

It can be an issue with the display cable or the LCD panel itself.
U will have to check with a local tech.

White has turned pinkish

sounds like the linear adjustment is out of whack.....most projection type tvs, projection, lcd, plasma, have to be correctly aligned so that the color grids overlap each other to properly display the correct hue being created. you'd need the service code to re-adjust it, or have it serviced. also possible that one of the color grids is bad, but if you have all three (red, blue, green) colors showing on the entire screen area i would doubt it

Look at the downloaded images recorded by the camera, if they are okay the fault lies in the LCD and ofteen the system board chip that tranlates a recorded image onto your LCD.

Sony a100 distortion dots - Im getting several

If these are single pixels on the LCD screen, they are normal. From pg. 8 of the user's guide:

"The LCD monitor is manufactured using extremely high-precision technology so over 99.99% of the pixels are operational for effective use. However, there may be some tiny black points and/or bright points (white, red, blue or green in color) that constantly appear on the LCD monitor. These points are normal in the manufacturing process and do not affect the images in any way. "

This may also be helpful.

"images may trail across the LCD monitor in a cold location. This is not a malfunction. When turning on the camera in a cold location, the LCD monitor may become temporarily dark. "

ROSEY HUE ON DISPLAY SCREEN

The camcorder might have CCD chip gone bad. Only way to repair is to replace the chip by trained technician. If it is under manufacturer's warranty, send it to Sony quick for repair. See also Sony's website if this model is under CCD advisory for free repair for out of manufacturer's warrnty products.
