Dish is probably using one of the A/V inputs and not a channel. trying the video input or A/V button on your TV remote or on the front of the TV.

Channel not available dish

Heather,

I would be happy to help! I would just need some more information to ensure an accurate resolution. When you access the menu, does it say 'Main Menu' with options like 'Program Guide', 'System Setup', 'Preferences', etc...? What cable is plugged into the secondary TV? It could be a Coaxial (single black cable), or an RCA (Red, Yellow, White) cable.

What channel does the tv have to be on - I have dish network - do I leave the dish off or on and move it to a certain channel?

First check what channel or input your TV is currently on bypowering the TV off then back on and noting the channel or input that appearson screen when the TV is powered on. If you are using a Coax Cable toconnect the receiver to TV1, check the receiver's back panel for the outputname. If your receiver has a "TV CH 3/4 out" (non-ViPReceiver): Tune TV to channel 3 or channel 4, if it has"Home Distribution" output (ViP Receiver): Tune TV to channel 62or 75. If using non-Coax (RCA, Component, or HDMI) to connectreceiver to TV1, cycle through the inputs until picture appears. In your casesince you have the Toshiba XDE500 connected between the receiver and TV, tuneTV and component to channel 3/4 (coax) or correct input. Hope this helps, andhank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!

I have Dish network. I want to record TV onto the VCR, but cannot get channels to record. i can playback videotapes and the record works, but cannot figure out how to get the signal to record.

The output of the Dish Network box should be hooked to the input of the VCR.
The output of the VCR should be hooked to the input of the TV.
The VCR should be on channel 3 to record. Select channel to be recorded on the Dish Network box.

It sounds like you have Dish Network box output hooked to TV input.
& VCR output hooked to an aux. input on the TV.

I have dishnetwork tv1 reciever is fine and shows tv2 is working but cannot see nothing but a blue screen on tv2. Dishnetwork will come out for 95.00 but the last 2 times they were here(free of charge),...

We would be happy to help get that fixed right away. Thefirst thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on.Wealso need to know what channel your TV2 is currently on, we will do this byturning the TV off then back on and noting the channel or input that appears onscreen when the TV is powered on, if the TV is not on channel 60 or 73, tune to60 or 73. Then Access "Modulator Setup"from TV1 by pressing"Menu", 6 for "System Setup", 1 for"Installation", then 5 for "Modulator Setup". Tune TV2 tothe channel that appears under "TV2 Out" on screen. If stillno picture and the mode for TV2 is "Cable", change it to"Air" and change the channel on your TV2 to 60, if it is already on"Air" then change it to "Cable" then change TV2 to channel73. If the issue is only on ONE receiver, unplug the DISH receiver for10 seconds and plug back in. The next thing we want to check is the connectionon the back of your receiver labeled "Home Distribution", this cablecarries the picture all the way to your TV2. Start by removing the connectionand screwing it back in, make sure all the connections going to your TV2 arehand tight. These steps should get your TV2 up and running.

I got dish net work installed yesterday and it worked fine but when i turned the tv on the next day it was nothing but static and i cant figure out how to fix it so whats wrong and how can i fix it?

Guest,

The static you are getting on your TV is because the TV is not on the correct channel or input setting. With the 311 receiver, there is either a coax or an RCA cable (yellow, white, red) going from the receiver to the TV. If you have a coax cable, the TV should be on channel 3 or 4 (usually channel 3). With the RCA cable, the TV should be on an input setting. You'll need to go through your input settings until you find the picture. Of course your DISH receiver needs to be powered on. I hope this helps.

TV Stuck on 1 channel

We would be happy to help get that fixed right away. The first thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on. We want to then check what type of cable was used to connect the TV to the receiver. If you are using a Coax Cable to connect the receiver to TV1, check the receiver's back panel for the output name. If your receiver has a "TV CH 3/4 out": Tune TV to channel 3 or channel 4, back if it is labeled "Home Distribution": Tune TV to channel 62 or 75. If using non-Coax (RCA, Component, or HDMI) to connect receiver to TV1, cycle through the inputs until picture appears; Most TVs have a "TV/Video", "Input", or "Source" button. If we are still not getting a picture then unplug receiver for 10 seconds then plug it back in, this will reset the receiver, then try cycling the inputs again.

We hope these steps resolve the issue. We want to thank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!

Need an Input to hook up Dish network/xbox 360

Sometimes its tricky with those buttons on the front but with most tv's you can get to the menu and change inputs.
One you figure that out you will want to go back in and add that input as a channel in the add/remove channel section then you will be able to get to that input by just changing the channel down below 2
( another way to do this would be to run the auto program with the devices on and see if it adds them that way)

I can't change channels, message on TV says,'' no input available''.

Have you tried reprogramming the Dish remote with the Sharp code? That might bring back the TV control. Another option is to use the TV's control panel menu button (if available), go to the setup choices and have the TV scan for channels while the Dish receiver is on. It will find channel 3 then, and probably nothing else, so the set will stay on that channel.

Sony tv problem

If you are connecting the dish receiver to the standard antenna jack (F connector) on the TV, then the TV must be in TV mode and tuned to channel 3. If you accidently change to another channel then you will get the "no signal" message. If this is the case then simply put the TV back on channel 3. If you are using the RCA jacks (red, white yellow) to connect the dish receiver to the TV, then the TV must be in the VIDEO mode to work properly. If you accidently put the TV in the TV mode, you will get the "no signal" message. If this is the case then simply press the TV/VIDEO button.
