Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer

Roller Fell Out (with my help)

Rear door would not shut. Tried to force it and still would not close. I pushed on one of the white rollers (barrell is 1.5 in. wide not including 5/8 in. prong on each side) that rests against a metal bar with 2 black rubber rollers that press against the barrell that fell out (these rollers feed stock). Barrell is fine but need to reinstall it. I have since figured out how to massage the door to get it to shut. I took main unit off of paper tray unit but still did not observe access. Any help would be most appreciated. lawjp@earthlink.net

I have not had the roller fall out, but do have the same problem getting the rear door to shut. I find it helps to shake the door horizontally as I apply gentle pressure to close. I am unable to determine what exactly is blocking it.

I am experiencng the same problem. There is nothing blocking the door and door just won't snap close. Very frustrating.

Tried, pressing levers inside printer by removing trays. Just does no work.

Hi!
I have the same problem but found the source of it:
There is a small blend inside at the buttom.
This blend should be in a upricht position, but falls back when reg cover is open.
Therefore it blocks the reg cover.

If you turn the printer over to you(almost 90°) this blend falls back and you can close the reg cover.

Would be great to get instructions from Dell how to fix this!

My solution is a little different with regard to closing the rear door. If you provide enough clearance for the rear door to open all or the way, take your hand and dribble the rear door against the back of the unit and your hand like it was a basketball (don't let it fall quite all of the way open so that you do not put tension on the hinge). Eventually something in the unit moves and allows the door to close. DO NOT PUSH ON THE ROLLERS. Even though they look like a likely culprit, they are easily dislodged and can fall out. I am still hoping someone will give me some guidance so I can reinstall my roller. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!

My garage roller door will open but not close what is wrong?

Assuming you mean your home sectional door, not roller door. A roller door is what commercial companies use on docks or storage buildings. Also assuming you mean that your motor unit (the opener) won't close it, not that you can't pull it down manually. With all of those assumptions, I would say either your sensors are misaligned or blocked, or your force needs adjusting, or your springs need adjusting. If you give more details on your questions, you are likely to get more specific responses.

Liftmaster GDO goes up 1/2 way and stops, springs are fine.

The Liftmaster openers have 4 movement switches, a )opening and b) closing limit and c) opening and d) closing force. First check the door for smooth operation by opening the door by hand (disconnect from the opener with the release cord). Any binding should be felt this way. It is possible for a binding hinge, roller or torsion springs to add too much drag and cause the force switch to shut off the motor. Hinges, roller shafts and torsion springs should be lubricated at least annually with a non oily spray (silicone or teflon spray). Not WD-40 or 3-in-1! A light band of lube should be applied to the torsion spring coils. If the door can be operated smoothly by hand, then adjust the closing force switch 1/4 turn at a time. This is a safety device do not use it to overcome another problem!

The top freezer door opens slightly and then reseals whenever the lower refrigerator door is closed

The lower section is connected to the top section through a common opening in the freezer floor. Shutting the bottom, being it is larger, will force air to open the top door. I installed a roller for a cabinet on top of my fridge to keep the door from pumping open. It is used to keep children out of cabinets. It is a roller wheel mounted on a spring loaded arm. It keeps the freezer shut until we open it. Some times the pumping action will force the door open enough it will not shut and things get soft. Hope this Helps Fix Ya up.

The slideing door wont close. When you pull the door close, the rear of the door wont go in unless you push it in at the same time its being close

Check the door tracks dirt/gum/crayons etc.
Check the rollers and roller arms, make sure they are not worn or loose or bound up. The rear roller arms should collapse freely to allow the door to latch.
Clean the track rollers and arms with a spray degreaser then wipe clean and spray with a penatrating oil wd40/screwloose etc. This should
cure the problem, if nothing is broken. Repeat this
a couple of times a year, more often if you take it to
the beach a lot. hope this helps. Good luck

HP Business Ink-jet 1200 1) when it starts printing and the paper feeds it makes an extremely loud clunk sound regardless of the paper tray being used. 2) each and every time the paper comes through it...

The pickup roller is problematic. First clean, then replace if necessary.

The part should be under $20.

To replace (from HP Support):

1. Unplug the power cord from the
printer, and allow the printer to cool.

2. Open the toner cartridge door, and
remove the toner cartridge.

3. Locate the pickup roller.

4. Release the small, white tabs on
each side of the pickup roller by
pushing them away from the roller,
and then rotate the pickup roller
toward the front.

5. Gently pull the pickup roller up and
out.

6. Position the new pickup roller in the
slot of the previous pickup roller.

Note Circular and rectangular pegs on each
side prevent you from incorrectly
positioning the pickup roller.

7. Rotate the top of the new pickup
roller into position until the white
tabs on each side of the roller snap
the roller into place.

8. Reinstall the toner cartridge, and
close the toner cartridge door.

9. Plug the printer in to turn it back on.

Hope this helps.

2002 Honda Odyssey: sliding door jolts/reopens when closing

Please check the aft track roller assembly. It is easiest to inspect from the rear of the van looking forward when the door is open. You'll see the rear hinge assembly clearly. The track rollers cannot be seen but you can pull outboard on the rear edge of the door--the door should not move outboard more than 1/8 of an inch. If it moves out more than this or feels sloppy, suspect damaged/missing track rollers. This will cause the hinge to chatter in the track and "jolt". It will also cause the door to misalign during the close phase preventing the close motor from properly engaging.
Replacing this part is no easy task but doable if you are good with cars. Check back here for more details if you want to try it, otherwise get a competent mechanic or the Honda dealership to do it.

2005 sequoia rear latch

purchase a paint roller tool where the roller part is only about 4" or so long. tear off the soft roller. bend the bar another 45 degrees so the angle from the handle to the part that had the roller on it is about 135 degrees. make sure all 4 doors are unlocked.
get on your knees and look on the right side of the handle where it goes into the door. you will see where you will insert the paint roller. now stand up. facing the door hold the paint rollerhandle in your right hand so it is sticking straight out from the door horizontally . insert the business end into that hole vertically. you will then feel for the "pad" which you are going to depress inside the door. when you feel it, turn the handle you are holding to the right slightly because you are now gong to push on that pad towards the front of the car. in order to do that, you need more clearance and that is why you are moving the handle. use your left hand to stablize your tool at the bend. at the same time put some of your weight on the door as if you were pushing it closed. you will hear it unlatch. lift the door as if the door handle worked. voila. the door is open.

Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.
