Toshiba P25-S477 internal wireless problem

I was given a P25-S477 with XP on it. I decided to swap out the hard drive and install windows 2000, just to play around with it.

Everything works fine, except the Toshiba internal wireless.

I tried all the 'ConfigFree' utilities from Toshiba's website.

All of the correct internal wireless card drivers are installed, no problems in device manager.

It 'sees' the network with a 100% signal, yet will not connect.

I tried every combination of settings with the router, even completely dropping all security settings.

When I put the XP hard drive back in, it works fine, even with MAC filtering enabled on the router (i added the MAC to the allow list).

Am I over-looking some goofy setting somewhere with this 'ConfigFree' utility??

As I said, it's just to play around with W2K, so it's not really a big deal, I just hate when I can't get something to work.
