Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My MP830 is constantly attempting to print a TX error report (for a fax that was attempted two weeks ago). Is there some way to delete the error report buffer? I cannot find a way to stop the attempted printing.
- press Fax button on front panel
- error page is printed
- press Fax button again
- error page is printed again
I cannot tell if it is printing a page for the same error, or for a repeated (redial) error. But then, I can't find any list of pending error reports (no documents are found via the menu options).
Solution #3 solved it for me. The report kept printing over and over, so I used the menus (roughly) mentioned in Soluton #3 by guest.
My problem was the printer was trying to print the TX Error Report with the image attached. That made the report too big for standard sized paper, so the machine kept telling me to check the paper size, and I'd hit 'OK', and that made the machine try to print the report again, for it continued to think it had not printed a complete report.
Here's what I did...
Go to: Fax Menu
Arrow right ( >) to Maintenance/Settings, hit, 'OK'
Arrow right to (>) to Device Settings, hit 'OK',
Fax Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Report, OK
Select 'Print error only', hit 'OK',
Attach TX image, Select 'NO', hit 'OK"
With the instruction to not attach the TX image, it will print out the error report without the TX image, the report will fit on the paper, and it will clear this problem.

For Canon Pixma MP830 - the 1.13 firmware (or later) should do the trick.
Here's the link for the update utility: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=12804#DownloadDetailAct
Later - B36.

Canon tech support walked me through this. Turn unit off. Unplug for 30 sec. Plug in, turn on. Memory should be cleared.

Thanks for trying -- but I turned my unit off and unplugged it for a couple minutes...and the first thing it did when I turned it back on was to print that pesky fax error report...
