Question about Keyboards & Mice

1 Answer

Keyboard does not work

The keyboard is cordless.  It quit.  I thought it needed new batteries.  We put in new ones, held the buttons down on the part that is plugged into electricity, the one on the bottom of the key board and the one on the mouse.
The mouse works, but the keyboard still doesn't.  We have double checked the batteries, they are okay.

I have a different model but the same problem. The mouse battery was low and I replaced it after which the mouse wouldnt work. So I restarted the PC and the keyboard would not work. I replaced batteries in the keyboard as well but th ekeyboard does not work. The scroll wheel on the keyboard and the media buttons work but no other keys work.

Re: keyboard does not work

I would suggest starting over.. uninstall the drivers for the keyboard mouse and go download the new ones from the manufactures website and fallow the instructions. typically they want you to install the drivers first before plugging in the wireless receiver. i hope this helps.. good luck.

side note- if your having the same problem with 2 diffrent wireless keyboards. you might have some interference from another wireless device. i.e. cordless phone, cell phone. so you might troubleshoot that if the drivers dont work.

Wireless just stopped working. Changed batteries,

The behavior described indicates weak/dead batteries. Logitech brags about the battery life on this model, but in reality battery life varys dramatically between invidual units. I've seen one that would not operate at all on Ni-Cad rechargable batteries (only 1.2 volts even at full charge). If you must use rechargeables, stick with NiMH (metal hydride). Better yet, use long life lithium.

Also, make sure the "Nano" receiver isn't sitting in the storage bin. This is one of two ways to power off the mouse. The other is the 'Clip N Go' dock.

Cordless mouse just quit

I'm afraid you'll need to replace your mouse already. Try to have it replaced if it's still under warranty.

Logitech cordless mouse won't work right. Hard to stop in one

Have you connected the mouse and keyboard to the receiver? There is a button on the bottom of each marked "connect". Press and hold the button down and watch the light on the receiver. The blinking will change when the device is recognized. It should operate smoothly after that.

Let me know how it works out.

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Cordless Mouse Just quit working While In Use

Most cordless mouse I saw has a reset button. Press this button, make sure you're in the transmission distance from the receiver when you do this.

Hotkey problems

I had the same problem but finally found a solution hidden in the depths of Logitech. It's quoted below. I had to do it a couple of times before it worked, and it seems that you need to reconnect the mouse at the same time. I didn't the first time and then the keyboard refused to work. (Finger trouble?) :-(

The following is from :-

This article applies to the following products:
Cordless Access Duo
Cordless Acess Duo Optical
Cordless access keyboard
Cordless Elite Duo
Cordless MX Duo
Cordless Navigator Duo

You may be able to reset the keyboard and resolve the problem by clearing the keyboard capacitors. To do this, remove the batteries from the keyboard and type continuously on as many keys as possible for one to two minutes. This action should simulate touch-typing; you should not press and hold only some keys down.
After you clear the capacitors, replace the batteries and synchronize the keyboard using the following procedure:
  1. Make sure the batteries are in correctly. A diagram on the device itself or in the Getting Started Guide should tell you the correct polarity for the batteries.
  2. Press the connect button on the receiver.
  3. Press the connect button on the bottom or right hand edge of the keyboard.
NOTE: If you are using a Cordless Desktop System, you must do this procedure for both the mouse and the keyboard.
The "Connect" button on the mouse is quite small and usually requires a pencil tip or other small object to push it. Remember, ALL Logitech cordless devices will have a synchronization button. If you have the "Cordless Mouse" with Model Number (M/N) M-RN67, the button will be located in a small hole on the lower portion of the back of the mouse. You will need a paper clip to access the button.

Keyboard does not work

You don't need to install any software updates. Just do the following:

[Ctrl]-[Alt]-[F12] (must use the left [Ctrl]-[Alt] keys, not the right)
Push the Connect button beneath the keyboard, then the Connect button on the USB Receiver, then the [Esc] key on the keyboard.

This will unlock the security encryption on the keyboard. You may need to reconnect the mouse afterward too.
