Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges? Brother Genuine Cartirdges????
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE
BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.

This is the only advice I can give you.

I changed black ink cartridge and now pages that are printed are really poor quality and really hard to see...faded in color and sometimes smeared in some spots. Help.

Try going into the menu and cleaning your print heads. If that doesn't work, take out the cartridge and using a cotton swab and alcohol, clean the print heads.

Epson 880 not printing in color

Was gone for the weekend.

Yes, the grayscale option gives you black and white or black tank printing only.

If you go to start menu, control panel, printers, right click your printer there is the option to print test page. In the upper left should be the windows logo in color. If you don't have that and you know you've removed the protective tape for the bottom of the color cartridges and when doing the nozzle checks "you have color?", then you probably need to reinstall your printer driver.

Is your printer connected via a USB cable, a thin cable with a flat connector at the PC and a square connector at the printer. Then, let me know. Send me your printer model from the back of the printer model sticker and I'll send you the instructions and a link to the current driver as well as a program link to download a system registry clean up utility that's free to use and can clean up from an uninstall of your printer.

Epson 880 not printing in color

Found the answer. For some reason, my computer accepted a Mac driver. It called the printer Epson Stylus COLOR 880 (M). I went back to the original installation disk; thereafter, I had two printers, one without M, one with M, and deleted the M printer. All is working fine now.

Epson won't print and all lights flash

"Turn the printer on while holding down both the ink and paper buttons. When the paper light flashes release both buttons", then hold down the ink button for approx. half a minute until the printer lights flash again then release it. That resets the printer.”
