Re: Unable to get back from standby.

In your problem there is no errors in the hardware, You may/should reformat and reinstall the windows to correct all the errors.

note: reformatting and installation can delete your files so back up it b4 proceeding.

I have problem in asus A8V-vm motherboard in that hard disk is not detected in BIOS but Win-XP is working properly and when I tries to install new windows XP it shows an error that hard disk cannot be...

Asus A8V-VM Motherboard coming with SATA RAID option, thats why you could not see the detected HDD in system BIOS. But you can see the the detected HDD in RAID BIOS. You can enter to RAID BIOS that will pop up after system BIOS. If you are using old version of WinXP it will not detect the RAID controller of you motherboard. Thats why you cannot able to install WinXP. While you booting from WinXP CD press F6 key when the WinXP installer prompted for third party driver. Copy the RAID driver provider in driver CD to a Floppy Disk (INF file) and insert it, hit enter to continue the installation. If you are using WinXP Service pack 2 or higher you do not need this step it will automatically detect the HDD.

Upgrade of WinXP home to SP2 failed on 3 attempts. System just reboots and reboots. Got message from Microsoft that my bios does not match the CPU. MB is P4VXASD. BIOS is AMI 07.00T ver 2.3 4/2/2001

Hi, you give us the M/B and Bios but don't say what the CPU is? What is the complete message you got from WinXP? SP2 often gives that message when you have changed your CPU, or Flashed your BIOS sometimes other hardware changes. SP2 recognises that something has changed since your first install of XP, and that message is usually not an error exactly, but part of a bigger message. That is usually just the part where SP2 says "by the way, as I was fiddling about I noticed that the BIOS and CPU are different to what I expected" Failures after applying a service pack are rarely anything to do ith BIOS or CPU especially if the system was working OK before applying the patch. Have you Flashed your BIOS very recently? like just before apply SP2? Most likely is that a file is corrupt, often NTKRNL, Please give more detail on how you applied the Spack, and all error messages thanks SB

Page_fault_in_non_paged_area problem with Windows XP

where did you get your copy of windows? is it original or not?
if not no problem but you must asure you have taken from sure resources. this is caused some times from windows itself, and some time from that i tell now.
first from hard disk drive faults, and this is cause from electric problems that hapens to you and from fulfilling hour works or defekts from munufacturer.
so a new format and new installation of your system (do full format not quick) may resolve this problem.
second is caused from bad ram module due to oveclocking them ,or from electric problems caused in your pc devices. so changing rams (take from your friend even if was a litlle capacity to prove) and start your system that it is to prove either the problem is in your windows hdd of in the ram module/s.
this is causin your problem. check to fix this and your problem is resolved.

Winxp instalation

There is not way to install a windows xp os without SATA drivers. If you don't want to use the floppy disk to make the os recognize the HDD, you can integrate the drivers in the Windows Xp installation Cd, using software like Nlite.
Another solution is to use a IDE HDD, the old kind with the 80 wire ribbon cable.

Hi! and Welcome to Fixya,

just suggesting, in my own view, of how to troubleshoot USB problem.

BIOS Setup:
  • restart your PC
  • in booting process, press F2 or Delete tab, to show BIOS set up.
  • in BIOS setup, find the USB port see if it is Enable or Enable it.
  • save the changes and exit.
OS Problem:
  • Update your system to Microsoft, SP1, SP2 and SP3, browse the MS website for any drivers update that applicable to your system.
  • at the link below, see some updates to MS website:

Drivers Problem:

My system doesn't see 500GB HDD (SATA) (Seagate Barracuda)

Can you see this HD in:
Control Panel/System/Device Manager?
In Computer management?(Rt.Click My Computer/Manage/Disk management)? You can also format the disk here.
