Sound like a card or ram chip,

pull out the ram first and see if you get the video to work with no ram instaled,,

if it works but beep many times the ram is bad,

Also try this with all the cards, hard drives and cd/flopy drives,

keep the video card pluged in,

If it dont come on after all this and you keped the video card in when testing. then its a bad video card,,

If the pc is shows no life then its the power supply, motherboard or on/off button

The network card (also the sound and video) is integrated onto the motherboard on this computer. You probably just need to install the drivers. You can download the drivers from Dell here. Also make sure the onboard network hardware is enabled in the computer's BIOS setup. (If you didn't use a restore set from the manufacturer and just install Windows, you almost always need to install the drivers for integrated hardware.)

Is it possible to use a network drive to store recorded TV on and play back from there

Yes, you could do that.

But, playing them from the network will depend on their format.
For example. avi files they will be streamed by Windows Media player by default.

However, to stream videos in your Local Network, you could use the method described here

HP pavilion desktop only has built in RJ45 connector--problem?

If you have built in 10/100 RJ45 then any network connection is possible.

One to one, you can connect to any built in 10/100 RJ45 equipped computer with a 'cross-over' network cable.

More commonly you can connect to a 'router' which allows a number of computers to connect to each other and to the internet . Use a search engine to find net setup on the 'web.
This is a very large subject so you need to decide what you want to do first!

Boot sevice

Did you mess around with the settings in your BIOS? If you did, make sure the boot settings are such that your computer tries to boot from your hard drive as the first or second option. It seems you might have changed the setting so your computer tries to boot from the network instead.

If that's not the issue, is your hard drive currently being recognized when the computer is started? What Realtek products do you have? I assumed the Realtek product is your Network Interface Card (the one that you connect an ethernet cable (one that looks like a phone cable except bigger) to, also called an NIC).

Make sure you didn't disconnect any cables that were previously connected when you installed the video card. Specifically check the IDE or SATA data cables that connect your hard drive to the motherboard, and the power cable that's connected to your hard drive.
