Re: not texting

Clean the nozzles by holding down the ink button for 5 seconds while the printer is on and after that try to print something if it doesnt work then its already considered as a hardware failure

My EpsonDX4450 won't print Black ink only when the Cyan is empty

Much as I'd love to say that Epson are being a bunch of "robbing gits" as you put it, in this instance they are actually helping protect your investment. If the printer was allowed to print without a valid ink supply on one of the ink types it would soon fill the printhead with either foam or air. Either promotes clogging. Now, whilst you might be certain that you're using just black, the printer may be programmed to use a small amount of the other colours (depends on the settings) so common sense often needs dispensing with. It's a pain in the backside, granted but it is intended to stop you from having much bigger issues later on. Appreciate that's not a "fix" but hopefully it explains why you're in the bind you are. My advice would be to purchase a cheap mono laser, especially if your printing it primarily of black text type... It's cheaper and you don't have to worry about consumables you don't use. Martin

Epson r390 printer prints blank(no text on paper)

Check condition of head first. Move head to parking position (head cleaning position). From outlet pipe of head cleaning mechanics, do suction. It's there is ink, the head is not clog (and the flow of ink is ok). Make nozzle check. If nothing lines appear, the problem is in board (cause you just reset). Using resetter, do initial setting. Good luck.

Epson c88 how print in magenta

Do you mean "how do I print text in Magenta instead of black". Well, you change the colour of the text from black to magenta. For example in Word, you would select (highlight) all the text, click on Format, then Font. Then click on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, then click on Magenta. To check you have the right colour, click again on the down arrow at the side of the Font Color box, and select More Colors. Then click on Custom. Magenta has a Red-Green-Blue value of 255-0-255. Now print the document and it will come out with magenta text.

If this is not what you want, please come back with a new comment explaining further.

Printing without color?

Im sorry to inform but yes, Epson ink jet printers require all of the ink cartridges to have ink in them in order to print any color, black and white, or grayscale images. Epson printers contain a permanent print head that needs to be charged with all colors to work. Even when users are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged for color printing and prevent air bubbles from entering the color print nozzles which can damage the print head. Therefore, once one of the cartridges are expended, the printer signals you to replace the cartridge in order for printing to continue.

Nothing comes out when I print

Epson 777 will not print. No paper jam. Power light flashing; red error light on steady. Paper does not feed; if paper supply is placed deeper in feed, entire paper supply (about 12 sheets) feeds thru as one sheet normally would , without printing.
