Side by side roper refrig

How do you get to the front panel off to get to the ice shoot flap my flap on the ice maker broke

I have the same problem. I think one of the plastic hinges on the flap that the ice comes through has broken off leaving no fulcrum for the ice flap.

This created a slow leak of heat into the freezer, creating a situation where the ice in the tray slowly melted and there was an ice flow down the portal on the inside of the door where the ice normally flows.

I am a bit nervous about prying off the panel as it has lights = electricity.

On most you can gently, slowly and carefully pry the cover off to expose the screws underneath.

My ice make has stop working

this unit has a wild ice maker on this unit, they used a standard ice maker but it also has an optic eye going across that control also. first you want to make sure your getting water to unit ..there is a flap on the left side of the freezer make sure that it is connected properly and not obstructing the beam that goes across to the right side ...you wont be able to see the beam but should be able to make sure the door flap is not getting in the way...you can actually remove ice maker and pull front cover off hold the left side flap down and jumpo out the ice maker on the "t" and "H" termiankl and advance the unit through the cycles... the most common problems wih this unit was either the gear on the ice maker broke or the optics went out on the unit... hope this helps repost with anymore questions

My ice maker keeps freezing up and then it won't make ice cubes, water comes out, but no ice. We have taken a hair dryer and melted the ice but it came back. Why does it keep freezing up? It is a side by...

If your talking about the ice dispenser freezing up, check that the doop flap is closing properly. Sometimes a plastic eyelet will break and the flap will sit ackward. They make a kit to fix that even though they say you have to buy the whole door.

No water going into ice maker on our roper side by side refrig

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

No ice instead water dripping down into freezer making icicles

If you have icicles, where are they forming at? If on the front of the ice bucket, then look at the dispenser shoot door is closing all the way. The way to check that is to look into the shoot while holding a flash light (or bright light) up into the dispenser from the front side of door. You should see no light.

Now if you have ice buildup around the inside of bucket, mainly from the ice maker to the bucket then you either have an ice maker that is leaking water or you have a water valve that is not shutting off all the way. Suspect water valve if you have ice buildup within water inlet tube on top of ice maker. Frozen water within tube is good indication that water valve is leaking.

Look inside refrig side of refrig, usually located on right top side of wall, you will find a tag with model number and serial number. Need both to get you the right part number for ice maker or water valve.

Icemaker not working- red light flashes constantly

The red light should flash twice , pause then flash twice constantly . If you close the flap on the left side , then the light should go off . This shows the optics (ice maker cut off ) are good .

Check the black tube ( fill tube ) , which puts water into the ice maker , to see if it is iced inside . If so , then the water valve behind the refrig is bad . It seeps into the tube and freezes , blocking the water flow .

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , then the water valve needs replaced . If it doesn't dump , and stays frozen in the ice maker , replace the ice maker . Also , make sure the coils under the front of the refrig are clean , as this will cause warmer temp in the freezer and the ice maker needs 5 degrees to operate .

Whirlpool side by side Ice maker has quite making ice

Open the freezer door and on the right side , make dure the slide is in the on position . If the red light flashes twice , then pauses , flashes twice , pauses , consistently , then close the flap door on the left side of the freezer . The light should go off . If these tests work , then the cut-off optics are good , and the icemaker needs replaced , due to the cubes not dumping . Also check the coils under the front of the refrig , to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , etc.
