Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly. Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove. To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive,BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive. If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: - Data and Digital Photo Recovery www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htmwww.CardRecovery.com
Try formatting it again and this may resolve the issue. Make sure your following the proper remove Device steps. Typically windows doesn't write all the data until you close the device properly.
Have you tried the pen drive in the other ports? Some times ports also will do malfunction. Kingston will do a very good customer service. To get your pendrive problem corrected and to get a brand new one for your pendrive, go to kingston service center and give your drive. Within one week they will replace you with a brand new drive as a replacement for your drive. But taking backup of the pendrive will not be done by them, That we have to do it manually!
Hi Cristina, This is Azeem Inam. your data traveller does not accept data over 101MBs. There can be two reasons for this problem. 1. there may be a virus that has provided a limitation on the copying facility. 2. This can be a partition problem. All you need to do is to use the software called DM (Disk manager). This is a DOS versioned software. Go into its advance installation option and then accept the hard disk kingston data traveller. It will take you to another menu showing the partition styles you may choose. you'll have to choose FAT32 type. then in the next menu you'll have to choose partition size by pressing enter button. and then accepting format you are done. it will start working as new again. Thanks for consulting your problem.
When you plug in the Flash Drive to your old computer, it will show up in My Computer probably as Removable disk or "Kingston Data Travler". You want to open that link up and drag whatever files you need into that folder. After doing so you put the flash drive in your new computer and repeat the process except you drag the files out of the folder and onto your desktop or a folder of your liking.
Try this, Format the drive using HP disc format tool after backing up the data. Make sure you select FAT32 as file system. You can download this tool from the following link,
