Question about Proscan PS32500 32" TV

1 Answer

No power The TV started blinking on and off. It did that a few times then stayed off. So, I left it off for a while then turned it back on...seemed ok then it started blinking off and on again. Now it doesn't come on at all but it still gets some power...the red light on button comes on. Any idea what this could be.

You may have had a failure in the high voltage/ horizontal output circuit. Since the problem was at first intermittent, it sounds like
something was breaking down in the above circuits and finally completely failed.

What can cause my samsung 46 inch smart tv to turn on and off

Sounds like main board fault. Contact any service technician. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Counting procedure to blinking codes to Philips TVs, are entirely different to that of other brands. Cannot count it directly. Just surf the site linked above for more details.

I finally managed to solve this problem by unplugging everything - scarts - HDD cables - power etc and left it for an hour. When I turned it back on again the problem had sorted itself out.

The tv keeps shutting down

i unplugged the tv , turned the lamp switch to off . I left it unplugged for a few hours . I then plugged the tv back in , hit the reset button , located on the front bottom left . I waited for the timer light to stop blinking , then turned the lamp switch to the on position . I turned the power on to the tv . i heard the fan kick on , this time there was not a dragging sound . the screen lit up and i have not had a problem since yesterday . i think that the problem started because the tv had been left on for too long , I know that what i have done is only a temperary fix . but as long as I dont forget to turn the tv off , i should not have a problem

Will not power, led blinking
check R640 (1K 1/4w) if open replace ic600 (8-759-670-30)
Standby led blinks slowly, a few times, chassis won't start up
I changed the vertical deflection ic type TDA8170 and I measured two leaky capacitors in the power supply. Better to change all 4 capacitors in the power unit, everything was then ok !

Tv keeps turning off

If it's staying on for just a short period of time it sounds like there is a sensor that is giving the unit a faulty condition (Perhaps for reason or due to a fault in the sensor). There are normally a few temp sensors in the TV around the Lamp and Ballast. They may be bad, or the lamp or ballast is just generating too much heat.
