One option is try choosing a different type for your password...i've had the problem before and what i did was to change the password type e.g. from wpa aes-tkip to wpa-aes passphrase (this option will appear during your wii internet connection set-up as you would probably know by now) and everything right after started to fall in place perfectly, just try what password type will work for wii started connecting to my router and never had the same problem ever since.

Trying to get my wii online haveing problem with acess with my linksys router

Hi ericpauley, could be one of a few things so lets list em out for ya and see what works :)
First, check your router setup page and verify which type of security you have it set up with (this will either be WEP, WPA-PSK(TKIP), WPA-PSK(AES), WPA2-PSK(AES). Once you verify this go into your Wii network settings and verify that you have that set to EXACTLY the same one.

If the security type matches exactly and you are still having an issue go back into your router setup page and retype your network access code then go to your wii and enter it exactly the same (if you use any capital letters at all they must match exactly when you enter it into the wii)

If you still have a problem then go to your Wii network settings and see if it can even see your network (with whatever name you gave your network when you set it up), if you cannot see your network at all on the Wii then go to your pc and check that and see if your PC can see the wireless network.

If your pc can see the network and your Wii cannot, try moving the Wii to a another spot as its possible the signal is being disrupted by electrical wires in the walls, etc.

I hope this helps you get up and running!

I cannot get my wii to go to the internet.i tried to go through a router and cannot get through

try to trouble shoot the device. If you still have trouble after going through the trouble shooting you still need assistance let me know and i will be glad to help. Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response. if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you. -Midwest-tek

Trying to install linksys wireless router to

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

My xbox360 scans and finds router but it will not connect. what is the problem?

Before connecting the X-box or play station or nintendo WII to the network, Make sure that you have all the wireless settings of the router.
if you don't know the wireless settings , then you will need to open the router set up to find the wireless settings.

Once you have all the wireless settings of the router, you are ready to connect the play station or the x-box to the wireless network.

Trouble connecting to the internet on X-box ,Play station or WII ?

You can try to reduce the MTU settings on the router. if the MTU on the router is set to 1500 then change the MTU to 1365.
Also you will need to open the ports on the router.
For WII port numbers are ==> 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920, 80, 443.
For XBOX port numbers are ==> 53, 80-88, 3074
For Play station port numbers are ==> 80, 443-447 ,5223, 3478-3479, 3658, 10070-10080.

On the x-box you will need to connect to the wireless network now.
Open the main Interface of the X-Box.

1. In the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
2. Select Network Settings, Configure Network.
3. On the Basic Settings tab, select your wireless settings.
4. Select the name (SSID) of your wireless network. If your router isn't broadcasting your network's name, select Specify Unlisted Network and enter the name.
5. If your network has wireless security, enter your WEP or WPA key.
6. Try to connect to Xbox LIVE again.

Troubles connecting WRT160Nv3 Linksys router to Wii

I am thinking the router was set to get it's IP from the modem and when you changed the IP after the power failure, is when you problems started. I suggest looking at your networks IP addresses. I think they are not on the same subnet.
My first step would be to record the settings and do a hard reset on the router, then proceed to reinstall the settings and make sure your network is on the same subnet.

Have wireless connection, but can't get online

Linksys wireless router has many bugs: connection issues like no connection or constantly having to reset the router. It isn't compatible with many network adapters. Hope this helps!

Wii connection issues.

You can check if the problem is with the internet connection going to the Wii or just the wireless connection.

When you loose connection, check the Wii's ip address. If it does not have an ip address(or ip is 169.xx.xx.xx) that means that the Wii is disconnecting from the wireless network. You can then try other wireless channels on your router.

If the Wii is still getting an ip of 192.168.x.x, that means that the problem is the internet from the router. You might need to forward ports on the router for your Wii.
