Question about Brother MFC3240 Multifunction InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Won't print right.

It sounds like bad when I try to print, like something is on the slide. It will only print certain things from the page, like the header. The quality is not very good either. It is hit and miss though, the last fax I received came out fine. I do use refill kits. Please help!

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

My printer simply wont print, I just get blank pages even when printing the test page. I have tried cleaning, deep cleaning nozzle alignment, everything!

HI there,
It sounds like you've done everything right, and it still won't print. Your printer is dead - and you need a new one.

I have a Brother HL-5240 laser printer at work, when the printer has not been used for a while, for instance, first thing in the morning. The printer will print 2 thick wavy lines probably about an inch...

there is no problem with printer cartridge, but there is a problem with printer drum unit.
Open the front cover and pool out the drum unit. You will see the blue arrow on the one side on the top of unit. Slide this arrow from left to right few times. If this doesn't help you can get a small brush and try to clean the thin wire (transfer wire) inside the unit and discharge grid below the wire. This should help.
good luck

Print carrier hangs on right side and sounds like a broken plastic gear, printer will nor work

you can try to pull manually the print head in left side to see if there are any plastic parts in the right side. but be carefully and don`t force to much. Usually it have to force just a little to slide the print head in the left position. You will figure out if something is blocking the print head. If you successfully slide the print head to left side try to take a close look in the right side to see any plastic parts. Use a flash light or turn the printer upside down if is necessary.

Canon MF 4100 prints one page at a time

This certainly sounds like a software problem and seems to be common with PDF documents that change font types. Also it might be worth checking that you elected to print all pages of the document, remove the job from the print queue and try again.

My hp p3005 laserjet it's hanging

This is a common problem with that model. It generally means that there is something going on with the formatter assembly. The easiest thing to try first is to remove any cards from the EIO slots
The next few steps will narrow down if the formatter is bad or the print engine itself.

First remove the right cover by sliding it towards the rear of the printer
Then stick something "non metallic" in the hole indicated to press the engine test button. This will tell you if print engine is working (a good thing!)

If you get a page to print out, that means there is something wrong with the formatter and you should have a service technician replace it.

If you don't see a page, be sure you are pressing it in all the way and if there is still nothing, it's time to have a technician come take a look at it.

Only thing that prints is page after page of tiny words

Go to your printer, right click, choose properties or preferences, main tab, and restore defaults.
Advanced tab too.
(( tab at bottom restore defaults ))
click this, you will get standard A4 prints.
hope this helps

I am trying to print something from a web page on the internet and it will only print from the left to the right, leaving about 2 to 3 inches of info out. How do i get it to print the entire thing?

I would guess you are using Internet Explorer when you try to print this. Internet explorer has a bad habit of not printing the whole page. Go to a search engine and search for "Firefox". That is another browser and it will print the entire page when you use it to print out webpages.

Printing in my e-mail message from someone it only prints half of it. Also it cuts of on the right side.

These are general things you should consider in a checklist fashion when trying to troubleshoot problems printing documents from certain applications. I have no specific information for your specific printer and the behavior you are observing.

Things to check to ensure proper printing:

1) Make sure that you have installed the LATEST driver software for your printer (you can get drivers online from the HP web site. Make sure it is working properly by printing a test page, if you have not done so yet.

2) Does your email software have a print preview? Make sure that the printer selected in your email software is the HP printer, then do the preview. How does it look? If you see your problem in the preview, then you need to do something in the software. Set the printing to be in default font style and size, as well as page margins.

3) When you print, does your printer report an error message that could indicate why it printed it only on the part of the text, and why it was cut-off on the right side. Check page orientation (portrait vs. landscape). In Windows systems, the print dialog windows also contain options for adjusting the page content to fit the page (auto-zooms, etc). Look at these options carefully.

If you have additional information to add after going through these checks, then do it.
