My projector shows diferent color, green on the top and normal color on the botom but it shows image

there are 3 LCD panels in the projector.
red panel,green panel and blue panel
I seems that the red panel is failing

it sounds like the wire you are using to connect your PC to projector is bad

if color is normal when menu comes up then it is not projector unless the input for your PC is bad

i would try new cable first since that would be cheapest

do other sources in other inputs work???

If you are using a component video cable (Red, Green, Blue) you may simply be missing the Red cable. It may not be fully plugged in.
You can verify that this is the case by: 1. Unplugging all video cables 2. Plug in the green cable, you should see a black and white image. 3. Plug in the blue cable, you should see some colours coming through. 4. Plug in the red cable, you should see all colours properly.
If not, unplug the blue and red cables and plug the blue cable into the red port. The colours will look incorrect, skin tones will be blue. If the colour comes through the problem is the cable. If the colour does not come through, the problem may be the projector.

There is three LCD in the projector red, green and blue. If green LCD make any fault mean line or dot or dots then screen show these line or dot in purple color:
If line is very straight and sharp edges then green LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.
If line is not straight and faded edges then some thing in LCD block so your projector need service

if it's an xr-32x (as it shows on this pic), it's a dlp projector, not an lcd. therefore no green filter. it has only a colorwheel and a dmd chip to affect the color. if it's not an xr-32x, and it's an lcd projector, replace the green filter. sharp sells the parts for the optical engine. but if it was your service tech that did it, have them replace it.

ghosting or convergance issue is what u have. if the image is in diff colors then deff a convergence issue. however, if the image isthe same color or shaded from the original then this is ghosting. this may be corrected through the menu settings(sinc settings).

how is the vga cable?
is the green color coming in the sharp menu with any signal?

Hi there. What windows are you using? There are a few different ways of chaning it but usually diferent depending on what make computer and what windows you are running, but normally on xp you can go into display and go to the advanced settings, then click on graphics setting and it gives you the option to change everything including temp, saturation etc.

I have the same problem as philvo. I was watching, the projector was operating normally, I heard a snap, there was a flash of light behind me I believe, and my Mitsubishi XD300U projector went to a black and white picture. That is all it will show now. All lights show normal operation. I would like to know if it is worth getting repaired. Does anyone have any ideas?

A tinted image (whether green or another color) is almost always a symptom of a bad or damaged cable - or a loos cable connection. In your case, you'll likely need a new M1 to VGA cable (Part# SP-DVI-A-R).

Assuming that you've made sure that the cable connections are solid at both ends, there is a simple test to verify that this is a cable issue and not a costly projector issue. While the image is tinted green, open the menu. If the menu colors appear fine while the rest of the image is still tinted green it's the cable.
