RAM extension modules for a Packard Bell Internet Dream Machine 5805i

Gentlemen,

I've been using a Packard Bell Internet Dream Machine 5805i for quite a while with no problem and it seems now my RAM memory is defective. Since I'd like to continue using this PC for some time, my question is simple : what is the type of these RAM modules and where can I buy them ?

Thanks a lot

Try going to crucial.com website, they can scan your system and tell you the ram replacements or you can search for it.

How do i increase memory in a Packard Bell Easynote mit gha20 laptop

Upgrading the RAM on the Packard Bell BG45-U-300 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEBJfLx9Kzk this might not be your specific laptop it might give some insight into ram upgrade If you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules. First you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system. You should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible.

My Packard Bell ipower PC is 3 years old and was supplied with 2GB RAM but now says 1GB in system properties - also says "new hardware detected" - has 1GB of the RAM stopped working?

> has 1GB of the RAM stopped working?

Yes, or that 1GB stick of RAM is not "seated" properly into its slot.

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power cord.
Remove one stick of RAM.
Reconnect the AC power.
Start the computer, and see if reports "zero" RAM or "1GB" of RAM.

Repeat with the other stick of RAM.

> "new hardware detected"

That's a quite-different problem -- changing RAM does _NOT_ cause this message.
