Keeping a book licensed

I have three questions:
1. It seems like if I let the devise lose it's charge I need to download again to get the license. How do I prevent this?
2. May I plug in the devise if it is still charged?
3. How may I stop in the middle of the book and when I turn back on start where I stopped it?

Not working

The license on the songs has expired, and that's the problem with DRM-protected WMA's. You will need to renew the license through the music service from which you downloaded the songs. If your subscription has lapsed, you will need to renew it. Then, you'll have to delete the songs on your Walkman, and reload them once you have updated the license.

If you only download and transfer files in mp3 format you will never have this problem, and you can keep the songs forever.

I want to download books from my library on to my zen mozaic, I can download them to music but shouldn't they go into an audible file?

The audible file is only for books bought from The library books will go into your music folder and be found under albums or artist on Creative players.

One additional tip, you have to get the license to play the library book on your computer and then start playing it on the computer (just the first few words) before transferring the book onto your player. The book has to get the license and be started or it won't play on the player. Something that caused no end of frustration before I figured it out!

Licens problems

I have had the same problem with Netlibrary and Overdrive. My solution was to download the book from the library website a second time on the same checkout and then transfer it to my player (again). Then the license is "fresh" and will work. Remember, Overdrive only allows 3 downloads for one checkout. Now I make sure that I transfer the files ASAP, so the license doesn't expire. It still happens occasionally, in the middle of a book and this is the only way I've found around it. Definitely a pain, but worth it for good book!

No license to play/sync license from PC - Zen Creative V Plus

Unfortunately with Napster and Rhpasody (and a few others) you will have to resync every 30 days. The license should renew itself if you connect your player and resync, but i would check with napster's tech support b/c you might have to enable auto-sync temporarily until all of the licenses are updated. Alternatively, you can right click all 306 songs, click on "license" or "digital rights" and click "acquire license" - but that could be a real, time-consuming pain.

If you convert those songs to Mp3 format with an Mp3 converter,, you will never have that problem again.

License Expired

There are 2 reason why you would get that error..
1) when you transferred the tracks to the device the licenses didnt transfer...
2) The tracks you transferred are subscription tracks meaning that you have to sync your device each month in order to have those tracks playing...

If you dont have a subscription for the tracks...(you will have to format your device in that case) and also you could have a device certificate problem which can solve by formatting your device or your DRM components maybe can solve that problem by foramtting updating the firmware on the device..

If you have a subscription you need to download a new track and transfer it to the device again...that should update the licenses for every single tracks...If that doesnt do it you will have to format your device...

I hope this helps...
Please rate accordingly
Thank you

Wanting to play WMA extension on this Philips Player

There are a few different possibilities.

1)Your subscription to your digital music service such as Napster, etc has expired. Sorry - unless you renew your subscription, you will not be able to play these songs again.
2) Your songs have DRM-encryption on them. To check and see, right click on an individual song name in Windows Media Player, and click on "License" or "Digital Rights"; if the affected songs have DRM encryption, then get DRM-removal software.
3) Your songs do NOT have DRM-encryption on them. In this instance, follow the procedure for item#2, except click on the link in the License or digital Rights tab that says "acquire license" (make sure you are connected to the internet first).

Synchronize my m240

The "please synchronize" error refers to the license for the library audio book you have on your device.

You will need to contact the content providers to troubleshoot the license issue.

Best of Luck.
