Re: car radio

The Jeep manual says that the car must be left for two hours with the ingition on or at least active - i.e. with the key in and in the right position. Worked for us to clear the "wait two hours".

Re: car radio

We had the same messge wit 2 hours for a week, so we disconnected the battery laft it for an hour reconnected it and it asked for the code again. Luckily we had the codes and its fine.
I would suggest you search the internet for a code then try it again.
Good luck

I have an BMW 325I 1992 and I need the code for the radio my battery had went died and after I replaced it the radio said code.

Most of the time the code is located in your car manual on a business size card with 4 digits. If you cant find then take out your radio and look for the serial no# of the radio on the back and call a BMW dealer to see if they can match the serial no# and find your radio code.

If you still dont work see if 1111 or 1234 will work. I'm afraid you will have to start from 0000 then 0001 ,0002 until you cover all possible combinations or else just replace the radio with an aftermarket radio. That car is very simple to replace a radio. You will need to buy a antenna adapter, car kit and car harness and a din size radio.

It is saying SAFE because a wrong code has been entered.

Try leaving it SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED for an hour or two and it should reset itself.

As you have already had it recoded, then if your  new code does NOT work , then the radio will have to be recoded again....or buy a cheap replacement radio off Ebay

Good luck !

I am after the radio code for my hyundai terracan without having to take it to dealer . It is a05/2005 model 2.9 turbo diesel

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

Free removal instructions here

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive

Hi when I had mine stolen from my saab I questioned what use it was to them without the code, I was advised that there are many ways to overcome the problem, one of them being put it in the freezer for a short time. Hey im not an expert only passing on what the informed people relayed to me, i.e not responsible for the ice damage. if trying it go for a frost free freezer

Your radio will require one of the following procedures.

Type 1
During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds (so that “…” disappears).
Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 2
Press the "Auto" button and "Track up" on face of radio at the same time. The four dash lines ( . . . . ) should "disappear".

Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 3
Model# DPX-4020 and DPX-4030
Press and hold the 1 then the 6 preset key (preset keys are the buttons on face of radio for storing you "favorite" radio stations). "C" should display.
Then using your remote, enter your code.

Enter your number from the remote control unit. Your code number is 5227 (KCAR)

* Press numeric key “5” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 3 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 1 time ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “7” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key

The security is canceled and the set enters the TUNER mode!
