I don't know how to put it on pause, I can cancel the print but not pause it. We've moved offices and I've lost the book. It is a fax coming in that is continually being printed. At the moment I can't receive any faxes at all. If I press menu it comes up with Function list, and there is some information there but not he answer to what is going wrong here.

Still trying with this. I've managed to print out the help menu by withholding the paper and selecting this function before putting the paper in and on about the third attempt it worked. I've also got the manual online but there is nothing there about this problem so I'm stuck.

I went to found the phonefax and clicked on 'support' which took me to this page:

I've downloaded the manual but can't work out how to stop this happening.

I've tried all this and if I put paper in I still get the same fax coming through. The 'clear' button onlyclears the voicemail messages. The stop button will stop it printing thata fax, but another one then comes through.

This drove me mad for a few hours too. Here is what finally worked:
MENU then 45 for "Service Code" (followed by OK). (This is on page 36 of the instruction manual, though not at all clear). I then typed 7140 & OK (which DIDNT work), followed by 7117 & OK (which DID work). The symbol showing I had stored faxes waiting in the machine, then finally disappeared !!! and the nuisance repeating fax, printed no more !

My suggestion is to put it on pause and go in the menu to cancel.
sounds like you were making a copy on the fax and put in more than one.

I could not locate the manual for that fax. But in any case if it is printing the SAME page over and over it is because it somehow changed from 1 copy to x copies. You need to scroll in the settings and find where you can change the amount of copies.

Could not find anything in the manual either, besides if you hold the start button for 2 sec it will make multiple copies.( Double check the start button ).

Try turning off and on while pushing down on the clear button. hold for five seconds after turning on.

Will not receive faxes or copy Fax line rings but the machine says its receiving but nothing will print out and it won't copy pages either I've tried turning the machine off for up to 5 minutes,...

To begin troubleshoot, you should set the machine to basic Fax/Tel mode only.
1 If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax). 2 Press Menu/Set, 2, 1, 2. 3 Press ? or ? to select how long the MFC will ring to alert you that you have a voice call (20, 30, 40 or 70 seconds). Press Menu/Set. 4 Press Stop/Exit. Even if the caller hangs up during the pseudo/double-ringing, the MFC will continue to ring for the set time.
After you confirm your Brother MFC-5440CN is able to receive fax then you can pick one of the 4 modes as describe on the owner manual.
You can download it HERE Detail Information is on 3-10

I've been using OKIDATE MICROLINE 320 PRINTER at work. I was printing something and I realized that I was printing the wrong page so to stop printing, I simply turned off the power and waited....

You would have to cancel the current print job from your computer for it to stop. Assuming you have access to a computer that is connected to that printer, you will have to find that printer by going to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > Oki ML 320 then right click, select "See What's Printing" and cancel Current print job (I am also assuming you are using windows). I really hope this helps, if not add a comment clarifying your question, thanks.

Sharp Inkjet UX A 1000

I had the same problem and, like you, went to the internet to find a solution. One answer I found was to unplug the vax, wait one minute and then replug it. This didn't solve the problem for me. Out of desperation, I printed the fax "Help" pagea nd, lo and behold, after it printed my Sharp 510 Fax was back to normal.

I had the same "Full Memory" problem & called Sharp. You need to unplug the fax, then hold (press down) on both the "Start/Memory" & the "Stop" buttons at the same time. While holding them down, plug the fax back in. After it's plugged in, you may need to press the start button again. That should clear it.

Incorrect Paper Size Canon super G3 fax

Sometimes turning it off and on again fixes it. However, we started having a problem where it would print out one page after you powered it back on again and then give the "incorrect paper size" message. I've found that by either holding down the green button or repeatedly pressing it while it powers back on (and held until the first page prints) fixes the problem.

Machine keeps printing over and over!

You need to leave the machine off for a period of time, Perhaps overnight or longer. When the battery back up runs out any stored fax will be deleted. If you have succeeded the first page should a report telling you this fact.

If this fails you can always wind your carbon paper backwards so its not wasting on the unprinted stuff but the stuff that has already been printed on.

Unplug the power cord from the back of the machine for 30 seconds. Put your finger on the stop key first and then re plug the machine, hold the stop key until the time and date return to the LCD. Do not worry about losing any faxes the machine can be powered off up to four days without losing faxes in memory.

Printer stopped working claiming the jobs have been 'stopped' and giving no explanation.

Hi Plug out the usb cable from the cpu. Try deleting the printers from the printers window(START, Printers and Faxes), uninstall the software. Power off the printer and unplug power adapter. After the printer has been deleted from the printer window, plug it back in and reconnect back to computer. Then try a new installation of the printer and software. The pending documents that have been stopped should now not be in the spooled documents.
