HP 1315 all in one Problem

HP image ZONE, HP DIRECTOR, HP DOCUMENT veiwer ALL ICONs wont workeven after installation or re-installationof software

    Hp 1315 director appears but soon assumes a red cross. Two Icons appear on desktop . Scanner does not work from Hp only from icon. Image icon appears but soon dissappears. Reinstalled several times as a message appears that installation may work this time. Printer works ok.

Hi Leslie, you will need to download the full software package, but before you do, unplug the USB cable that is connected between your printer and your computer then Go to this LINK for XP Home full software package to suit HP 1315, then

1. Click the Download only button.
2. When prompted, choose Open to start the download and run the software installer.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the installation process.
4. Connect the USB cable between your HP all-in-one device and your PC when directed by on-screen instructions, and turn on your HP all-in-one device.
5. Wait for additional on-screen installation instructions before using the all-in-one.

My hp scanjet 2400 stops at warming up then shows unexpected error. please help


Try connecting it on direct wall outlet.Not a surge protector or power strip

An Unexpected Internal Error Has Occurred' Error Message Displays
Issue When attempting to scan, or, during the scanning process, the error message An unexpected internal error has occurred may display on the computer screen. There are three scenarios where this issue occurs. This document covers each scenario where this error may occur and provides links to the appropriate documentation for resolving each scenario. Solution one If you have multiple versions of HP Image Zone software installed on your computer, click here to download a patch that might resolve this issue . If you do not know if you have multiple versions of HP Image Zone installed, follow the instructions below.
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Click Add/Remove Programs .
  3. In the list of programs that displays, look for the following entries:
    • HP Image Zone
    • HP Photo and Imaging Gallery
  4. If there is more than one entry listed, then there are multiple versions of HP Image Zone software installed on the computer.
  5. Click here to download the patch. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the patch.
  6. If the issue persists, try the next solution.
Solution two Clicking Scan picture or image in the HP Director software results in an unexpected internal error or causes the computer system to stop responding. Click here to resolve this issue (c00369826). Solution three When accepting a scan from the HP Scanning preview window, the scanner may start to scan and then lock up with the lamp approximately ½ way down the scanner bed. This results in an unexpected internal error or causes the computer system to stop responding. Click here to resolve this issue (c00373192). Solution four When accepting a scan, the scanner completes the final scan and the lamp returns to the home position; however, when the image is being processed or sent to the receiving application (that is, HP Photo and Imaging Gallery), an unexpected internal error occurs. Solution five Immediately after clicking Scan Picture from the HP Director when using an HP Scanjet 3970 with v2.2 software, an unexpected internal error occurs.

Sir, I have hp scanjet 2400 scanner. I formatted my system. Unfortunately I missed the installation CD. However I installed it from downloaded/installation CD (from my friend). The HP Director and HP...


The drivers of the scanner is not correct one, you need to un-install it and download drivers from HP web site by clicking HERE and then re-install drivers along with software.
Hope this will solve your issue. good luck

Pc locks up after using scan on hp director


Uninstall all of the all-in-one software. Go to www.hp.com and search for your model and download (free) the latest software and reinstall.

HP 1315 - no director


The Software of HP Director comes up with the Installation CD of the printer and not available from the Online download.

Your printer will work with any application with the driver installed from online download.

Let me know if you are getting problem in running any application (viz Scanning, fax, copying etc.)

I press scan it it wont scan my picture.


1. To load a picture, lift the lid and place the original face down on the left front corner of the glass, with the sides of the picture touching the left and bottom edges.
2. Close the lid

Scanning a text document
  1. Load the original.
  2. From the HP Director , click Scan Document .
  3. From the HP Scanning dialog box, select the desired options and Scan to destination.
  4. A preview of the image will appear in the HP Scan window. Make any edits from the HP Scan window and click Accept .
  5. Click Scan . The document will open in the selected Scan to destination.
Scanning a picture
  1. Load the original.
  2. From the HP Director , click Scan Picture . A preview of the image will appear in the HP Scan window.
  3. Make any edits from the HP Scan window and click Accept . The HP PSC sends the scan to the HP Photo & Imaging Gallery , which automatically opens and displays the image. The HP Photo & Imaging Gallery has many tools to edit the scanned image. For more information about using the HP Photo & Imaging Gallery , see the onscreen help that came with the software.
Stopping a scan To stop scanning, press Cancel on the front panel. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

If the patch or the updates did not work on the link I sent you try this Workaround: Open HP Director each time you use it If the update to HP Director is not available, or if you have installed the update and the HP Director window still fails to open, try this workaround.
  1. From desktop, double-click the HP Director icon to load the program into the memory. HP Director will not open at this step. Do not click anything else on the screen until Step 2 is completed.
  2. Press the Alt key and the Space bar together, and then select Minimize from the menu that appears at the upper left corner of the window. If necessary, click it again until HP Director minimizes. HP Director software displays as an item on the task bar (the row of open software programs that appears at the bottom of the desktop screen).
  3. Click HP Director on the task bar. The software opens and displays normally.
  4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 every time you use HP Director.
    NOTE: The HP Director window might appear larger than normal, but the software is functional.
Cause In October 2006, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7. The HP Director software that shipped with some HP products introduced between 2002 and 2004 may not be compatible with Internet Explorer 7. The HP Solution Center software, which replaced HP Director software on products introduced after 2004, is compatible with Internet Explorer 7 and does not exhibit this issue.
