How do you test the circuit board on a 700 to see why its not getting power to the motor? I checked the motor and it is fine. The solonoid valve is coming on and water is leaking out the bottom I'm asuming because the fan is not coming on to blow it towards the heater.

The only thing you can test is voltage out to motor and bypass humidistat by tying 2 yellow wires together that come out of unit

I have an Aprilair humidifier that started making a loud humming/buzzing noise. The water runs OK but the soloniod is burning hot to the touch. Is this normal?

Yeah they do need to be replaced from time to time. Make sure you get a water test kit and check your water hardness. You may need a whole home water filter if it is outside of normal ranges. A pretty easy DIY project and relatively inexpensive at the big box stores

2005 Aprilaire 700 humidifier. Replaced a non-working circuit board. Now, the humidifier works fine when the furnace is running. It starts and stops as it should based on humidistat setting. Problem: ...

It sounds like it is just miswired. The low voltage wiring off the humidistat should be on W and C on the circ. board at the furnace. If you have it on R and C then it will power it constantly regardless if the heat is running or not. W is only energized on a call for heat which is typically when you want that type of humidifier to run

I have 24 volts coming from humidistat and 120 from plug to circuit board in humidifier. But nothing comes on even after i replaced the circuit board.

Hello, apply power directly from transformer to solenoid valve, if it does not come and let water through the solenoid valve than replace solenoid valve

My aprilaire 700 isn't coming on (no water flow). The front part of the unit has fallen off the furnace twice (held on by plastic nubs/slots...) and blew the furnace fuse/ and circuit breaker probably...

Check for voltaged at the solenoid valve. This will either be a 24 volt or 110 volt solenoid valve. Confirm power into the unit 110 volts. If you have power into the unit and no voltaged at the solenoid valve on a call for humidification at the humidistat than the circuit board or the step down transfgormer has failed.. If you do have voltage at the solenid valve than the valve has failed.

Water runs without furnace running

If this is a new problem, on an existing humidifier, then it is most likely a bad solonoid valve. This is the valve that the water line is connected to, and it controls the flow of water to your humidifier.

If this is a problem on a newly installed humidifier, it is possible to have wired the humidifier directly to the transformer power, and therefore holding the valve open all the time.

Hope this helps

Unit not working, no noise when tested, power is going into the unit. Is it better to replace the board or the entire unit assuming it fits into the current opening?

I would want to check the humidistat and control circuits first. Are you checking the 115v or the 24v. If it is old you may want to change it.

Aprilaire 760 furnace humidifier makes a loud screeching sound.

A bad circuit board should not make any noises. A bad solenoid valve could make a loud buzzing noise. If the noise is a squealing noise then you have defective bearings in the blower motor.
If you disconnect the low voltage wiring from the solenoid valve and you still hear the noise, then its not the solenoid valve.

Water not getting to panel when furnace is on

Assuming that your humidistat panel in on the cold air return, I would remove the panel and check that some lint or dust possibly is stuck to the sensor. Also check the operation of the solenoid easily when the furnace is running by turning the dial back and forth and you can hear the solenoid open and close.
