Make sure the printer is turned on.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the electrical outlet.

My lexmark 2350 im trying to set it up and my computer keeps telling me that i need to change the port to a usb and i found how i just dont know which port there is tons of them

Aquick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting theprinter and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from yourcomputer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power sourceto reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then tryto print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection. Ifthat doesn't help, try the steps below: 1.Disconnect the printer from your computer. 2.Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where thepower cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30seconds). 2.On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. 3.Delete the Lexmark print object. 4.Reboot your pc. 5.When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer. 6.Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to ControlPanel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in thelist, then try to print again.
Youmay also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at your operating system, download and execute the file.

You need two cables - one for power and the other for data. The USB cable is easy to replace at most stores with computer accessories. You need a cable with A/B male ends (standard USB cable). If you need the power cable, that may be harder without contacting HP. The end of the power cable may be specific to HP.

I hope this helps.

(Even Walmart has USB cables. HP recommends using a cable that is no longer than 6'.)

It will never say it doesn't recognize a USB cord.
A USB cord is just that--a piece of wire. It might tell you that it can't find the printer.
Has the printer worked before?
If you are installing it for the first time, did you install the software before plugging in the printer?
If you have done all these things, then either the USB port is bad or the printer is.
But--try uninstalling the printer first--and any software that came with it. Then reinstall the software and plug in the printer.
While I did mention that the cord is just a piece of wire, it is possible that the cord has become damaged in some way. Try using a different cord. Also, try using a different USB port.

First, check to see that you can make a copy. If you cannot you have a physical problem with the unit that we will have to address. If you can make a copy: Disconnect the printer from the computer Go to the Control Panel/Add Remove programs Remove the Dell printer program Go to the Control Panel/Printer and Faxes Click on File come down to Server Properties In the box that pops up go to Drivers Click on the Dell printer - click on REMOVE Reboot your computer Re-install the printer driver from the CD - It will let you know when it wants you to reconnect the printer. If that does not take care of it, PLEASE let me know before you rate this solution. Ed
