Flash will not pop up. Can you help?

I have looked on this site for the manual for your camera

However, as you will see when you go to this site, your camera model is not listed. Are you sure the model number is correct?

Without the model number, I can say generally, that digital cameras have a menu button that has many options in it which includes setting the flash to Auto or On or Off. Explore your camera options a little and I'm sure that you will find these options.

Having the same problem. We rig it by tucking the strap into the pop up flas to hold it up...

This can be due to the flash mechanism being worn out.
Maybe you just have to change a spring but to be safe take it in to be checked out.

Fuji will fix it for $110, my solution was to buy a new Fuji S1500 for $132 though....

It is a common problem. Your flash probably does not pop all the way up. I fixed mine by gluing a spring I made under the flash. The spring is about 3/4 round x 1/2 high with about 1 1/2 turn. It took me a while to get the spring tension right.

This model does not have a manual flash pop up release, so if the flash is not needed, it won't pop up at all. Use the "flash" button on the back of the camera to set: fill, forced, disable, etc. flash settings.

The S700 does NOT have a manual release for the flash to pop up, but it DOES have a spring already. DO NOT try to force it! Set the flash to "FORCE", leave your lens cap on and waste a shot to allow the flash hood to pop up. Reset your flash to the desired setting and now the flash is already open and ready for use without the delay and the startling effect it has when your concentrating on framing your shot. As for the other problem of no flash in any setting: Check your menus to see if you have the flash totally disabled, check your batteries, does the "charge indicating light" come on at all between shots? In RARE cases, the actual bulb that flashes may be burned out, or a component in the flash circuit itself,such as the capacitor, may have gone bad. Did the flash ever work? If under warranty, return for repair or replacement. There are NO user serviceable parts in these tiny cameras

The flash on my S700 stopped popping up too. But I made a spring about 3/4 inch in diameter by 3/4 inch high with about 1 3/4 loops. I glued it right under the flash. It works quite well now.
