Question about Sub-Zero 690 Side by Side Refrigerator

Freezer Condender Freezing up

I have had this unit for about two years. About every 4 months I have to thaw outthe icemaker unit. The last two times the drain tray was froze solid. There seems to be a heater cord in the tray and one taped under the tray. It looks lie the one that is under it was added later. I put my hand on the heater cord to see if it was hot. I didnot feel any heat from either one of them. The condenser light is flashing, but the condenser is clean. Not sure what my next move is?

Side note, the ice dispenser button does not work. when pushed nothing happens. I have to get ice from the bulk dispenser.

Press and hold the "Bell" looking symbol for 15 sec on the control panel release it the vacuum conder lite should go out. the heater on the icemaker is only engaged when the icemaker is cycling it truns on to soften the ice so it can be removed when the fingers spin around

Ice maker not making ice , we have water in the dispencer but no ice

Is the icemaker turned on? Did someone bump the on/off lever/switch accidentally?

If not, if you put your fingers in the ice tray, is there water/ice cubes? Unit may be froze up or the waterline may have froze up. Pull your food out and turn off the fridge and let the icemaker and waterline thaw. Speed it up with a hair dryer (caution that you dont melt plastic or wires).

Whiring fan, very loud, last night now no sound and the temp is rising

That is usually the evaporator fan motor ($30).
Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Can get from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
Unplug fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.

Freezer thawed, fridge leaking. Our refrigerator

Without a type of Freezer, I take it it's a froze free type ? Check the drain for food clogging it or the drain pan and hose to it ( may have a hole in pan or hose. Wrap everything but be sure to clean the unit from food that lays at the bottom .

i think its not the frz drain hole blocking up but a fault with the defrost tray heater. the tray heater should keep the defrosted frost as water to drain away. it sounds as though the tray heater is not working therefore letting the water freeze as it is escaping thorough the drain hole. i would check this out by defrosting the unit and inserting a flexi rod into the otherside of the drain hole (above the compressor usually) and after clearing it if it freezes up again check out the defrost/heater system.

Turn ice maker off for 24 hours to thaw out any additional frozen lines.
Make sure that you do have water from source to unit. Water valve grit screen may be clogged with debrie or water valve is bad.

Frigidaire not making any ice...

check inlet tube behind icemaker and make sure its not froze up. If so, it may just need to be thawed out but if it happens again you will need to replace water valve.
