Question about Sony Ericsson K800i Cellular Phone

Sony Ericsson K800i Cell Problem-Keypad

The other day when I woke up my 4,7,9, *, and # keys stopped working. I did not spill any liquid on them or drop my phone. Is it possible that they are jammed and if so, how can I fix it or where should I take it?

Sounds like they could be jammed, yes. But if not, it could be broken too and u need to get the phone to someone who can fix it. Like the shop u bought the phone from or any other place that sells Cellphones.

Keypad not woking

u better remove ur panel & beside the keypad u ll get 1 white col key pad type plastic paper... u hav to replace tht.....

Lock the keypad

You can manually lock the keypad to avoid pressing keys by accident. You can still answer an incoming call and the keypad will lock again when the call is finished. The keypad remains locked until you unlock it manually.
Depending on your phone model, you can activate the automatic keylock. When the automatic keylock is activated, the keypad locks shortly after you stop pressing keys.
Please note: with some phones you can still use external keys when the keypad is locked. If you wish to lock the external keys you must lock them separately.

K800i To manually lock the keypad:
  1. From standby, press the * key.
  2. Select "Lock keys".

To activate automatic keylock:
  1. From standby, select "Menu" > Settings.
  2. In the General (tab), select Security.
  3. Select Automatic keylock > On.
To unlock the keypad:
  1. From standby, press the * key.
  2. Select "Unlock".

Keypad not functioning properly can this be fixed?

hi there, sounds like you have a hardware fault in the PCB which will cause intermittent button failure, the only solution i can see is getting in touch with sony ericsson Customer service and arranging a replacement or repair of the phone !

K800i Liquid damage

Take the phone to a mobile service center and have them fully service the phone and replace the LCD on the phone.
