Interior light comes on, nothing else. console is dark, wont turn on

i suspect loose battery cable connector, remove clean put a little grease on the poles reattach cable connector and tighten,

The first thing that comes to mind is that the dash lights scroll dimmer is scrolled all the way in one direction which manually shuts off all the interior lights, even if a door is opened. At night turn on the parking lamps and then scroll the dash lights dimmer until the dash, radio face, overhead console, etc is brighter. Turn off the headlamp switch. Shut off the engine and exit the vehicle. Interior lights on? Hope this helps.

Check the fuses sounds like a fuse problem the often dont com alone

A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch (automatic) and the key switch.

Connect it to another monitor,and see if it comes on. Your screen may be damaged.

i checked the manual (troubleshooting) 1. turn off PS2 2. unplug it then, plug it back in and turn it on(andprayitstillworks).

the battery is dead, it's as simple as that. the battery only needs a tiny bit of power to turn on the interior lights and panel lights, but it does not have enough to dis-engage park lock out electric solenoid.

If I understand it correctly, the screens are still dark.
Small question....was it dropped on the floor?

Open the battery compartment, and remove the battery.  Look at the bottom inside corner for a little square sticker with has marks on it. is it dark or light,  If it is dark, your PSP has come in contact with moisture. I suspect that your PSP has gotten wet or damp.  If the sticker is dark, you need to keep your battery out for about 2 days, and keep the UMD door open and the whole PSP kept in a dry environment.  Try it after 2 days of drying to see if it is recovered.
