Convergence IC + Resistor swap = Blue light clicking noise

I replaced my convergence IC when I had my convergence problem and then the tv quit working and went to this problem with the blue light and the clicking noise. I then replaced the resistors and I still have the blue light and clicking issue, Any suggestions on how to fix this, I would be greatly appreciative!

I meant the blue LED power button light, not the projector light. I checked all of the connections and plugged it in again and it automatically turns on but no picture/sound and still makes a clicking sound...

I'm real close to junking it...

It's still making that clicking noise after I re-soldered the IC's and replaced the bad resistors. Checked all the connections and one seems to be missing.

Its located on the right circuit board on the back of the TV. Its a 5 pin plug located at the A column and half way between 5 and 6 quadrant. I can't find any cord that goes to it nor remembering anything about removing it initially.

Good Day,
It sounds like you may have slightly diconnected a cable. Look for the large RED cable/wire that goes to the Blue tube and make sure that they are very secure. When doing this make sure the TV is off.

Good Day,

If the TV was working before you replaced the IC'S, I assume. Then you either have a plug disconnected or you may want to check your solder connections on the IC'S, use mag glass it does not take much.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

Screen looks 3D
Colors don't line up
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed or warped.
TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

ICs + resistors swapped= blue power light auto on clicking noise

Unplug the power to the convergence board. If it turns on, you still have a problem in the convergence circuit.

Turns on has blue light thats it no sound or picture

convergance amps are failing and need to be replaced along with the 2 burnt resistors not a bad job they are locate on a smaal board in front behind the front panel on a large heat sink you can take the board out and work on it

Blue cast to screen and words at the bottom of screen run uphill.blue does not seem aligned to grid. magic focus did not correct. Can align red and green manually but not blue.

The IC /resistor in convergence circuit(blue) is bad

convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

Samsung SP42W4PHX convergance problem

Hi
The resistors are 39 ohms, metal oxide.
Usually both the stk392-010 ic`s (on heatsinks )
want swapping. You can get them off ebay..

I need to identify the parameters (rating) of a resistor for a Panasonic PT53WX53G projector big screen tv. It got hot so I can not see the color codes on it. This resistor glows red when TV is turned...

The resistor you see is a 2.2 ohm 2 watt resistor and is part of the convergence circuitry. I would replace R7011. 7012, 7013, 7014, 7015 & 7016 (all the same value) and the 2 STK392-110 Convergence ICs. This should fix your problem. You can find kits on-line for around $45 with the IC's and resistors together.

also check resistor values on the chips and resolder the tuner as this can cause problems as they heat up , then replace any electrolitic capacitors in the video circuts selector ic
