During embroidery, the machine indicates that the thread has broken, but it hasn't. When I rethread both the thread and the bobbin, restart the machine, it does a few stiches and then shows the thread broken symbol. I've tried turning off the machine and also reloading the embroidery design from the computer, but nothing seems to help.

You didn't state what brand of machine you have.

If it is a Janome, the fix is very simple. Open the left side cover and on the right of the take-up lever path there is a kidney shaped hole with a black gasket inside the rim and a spring tip poking out of the center. Sometimes the black gasket makes the spring hang up and the machine thinks that the thread is not moving. Make sure that the spring's movement is not inhibited and it will work.

My machine keeps showing the bobbin error but there is nothing wrong in the bobbin

Assuming you have threaded the bobbin case correctly, you might try using a different bobbin. There may be something wrong with it. Make sure that there is no thread sticking out of the side of the bobbin.

If there is a bobbin thread sensor, it could be dirty causing it to not read the bobbin correctly.

When you thread the upper thread, be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot so the tension disk is released and the thread can seat properly.

Why does the bobbin keep showing up on top of the embroidery? I have changed the bobbin, I have rethreaded the top thread, I have changed the needle, I have cleaned the bobbin area. How else can the...

Loosen the top tension a little or tighten the bobbin tension ever so slightly. If that fails you can always color the bobbin threads with a magic marker the same color as the embroidery thread. You might go to Superior Thread's web site and try some prewound bobbins. They are worth their weight in gold. Dr. Bob knows all about all kinds of thread and is very good about answering questions. I think some of his Thread University videos are available too.

The machine is pulling through more bobbin thread than embroidery thread

Sounds like a tension issue. Try rethreading the upper thread first and then lower the upper thread tension.

With the embroidering, some of the bobbin thread is SUPPOSED to show on the top of your embroidery-the machine isn't doing anything incorrectly. You'll need to thread your bobbin with the same thread as you are using with the top. I had the same "problem" when I first got the machine and took it to a wonderful local technician whose helped me with a lot of things who informed me that this is perfectly normal on embroidery machines.

the tension for embriodery should be very light. also, there are needles just for embroidery, which have a bigger eye so the thread goes though easier.

I have the futura ce-100. When embroidering it

This annoys the heck out of me, cause it happens a lot more than it should. There can be some valid reasons as to why it happens, though.

Your top thread could be broken or about to break; your bobbin thread could be broken, about to break or empty/about to become empty and is loose around the bobbin; you could have a birds' nest (a mass of thread just under the fabric/presser foot and/or within the feed dog and bobbin) forming and causing a jam; or it could be your Futura having a little bit of a hissy fit. Obviously, if you've checked for broken thread you need to move on. Check for a birds' nest by removing the fabric and clip your threads. If you find one, clear it, rethread your bobbin and begin sewing again. If there's no birds' nest, then place the fabric back in and try sewing/embroidering again. If the machine acts up again, I recommend removing the fabric/hoop, rethreading your top and bobbin threads, replacing fabric/hoop and resuming where you left off. If the machine still gives you trouble, try hitting the start button for a couple of times and seeing if the problem doesn't simply resolve itself. When you're embroidering areas that have a few small, short stitches only, the machine seems to act up a little and then behaves fine once you bypass the area. Be sure to take all of the other steps first, though, because a birds' nest will RUIN a beautiful seam or embroidery.

I have a Desinger SE. While I am emb. bobbin

Make sure your hooping is very tight with the right style of backing. Your machine has a Embroidery Advisor that will tell you which backing is best for your fabric style and if a topping is needed also. When you hoop your fabric, you should be able to snap it with your finger and get a "thump" like drum sound. If the fabric can bounce at all in the hoop you can have the problem you described. The first thing to do concerning the machine is to start with a new needle and take the thread off the top and rethread the machine. If you ever break thread, don't just rethread the needle only. Take the thread off the machine completely and restring it because when the thread breaks, it comes out of critical guides under the plastic covers that you can't see. Those guides must stay threaded properly for your machine to sew properly, so just rethreading the needle very rarely fixes your problem.

I figured out the solution for this issue. It all has to do with the threading. And I mean literally follow the instructions word for word. Most importantly is the Bobbin thread. make sure to thread the bobbin through the case eyelet.
