Question about Bissell 8910 ProHeat Clear View Upright Vacuum
I have a 18 month old Bissell Proheat 2x Series 8920 and the Drive Brushes will not spin during the cleaning process. After removing the Brush Assembly and Inspecting the rubber Belts everything seemed clean and in good condition. With the Brushes and Belts removed from the system I lowered the Handle (Required for Brushes to Turn) and inspected the Metal Shaft/Sprocket that drives the Brush Belts protruding from the left side (viewing from the front). When I turn the unit on I notice that the Metal Shaft/Sprocket is not turning. While on if I give the flange of the Metal Shaft/Sprocket a gentle spin with my fingers the Metal Shaft/Sprocket will then spin on its own.
What might be the cause of this?
Is there a Belt on the Pump Motor that Drives the Metal Shaft/Sprocket?
How do I access the Metal Shaft/Spocket drive assembly?
Most likely the brush motor is bad and not turning, part #2036757, would sell for around $23. To get to it, start taking out screws on the top cover, that motor is under the that top access cover.
