Bolts wont reach

Striped machine and am putting it back together but I cant seem to get the bolts for the pump to reach the sleeve. This first started as just a simple coupling replacement. I have had the whole thing back together but the bolts end up 3/4 inch short. Any suggestions?

Re: Bolts wont reach

Ok first off i am confused are you sure you have a Kenmore top load ?? You said you had to replace the coupling so i will assume the unit is a direct drive....The pump goes on by 2 clips and fitting it into the motor shaft I dont understand what bolts you are talking about>>????

Just replaced a clutch assembly but cant get the three bolt holes close enough to put back together

Sounds like its not going up through the drive block,I am assuming that the bolts you are referring to are the transmission bolts. Spin the clutch to a different location to make sure its not hitting the actuater on the brake assy then try again.Your question was posted a few hours ago you probley are washing clothes by now...Good Luck

I have a LG WM0532HW. What are the drum bolt sizes thr.& length

Hello Jeff,

Unfortunately, these are specially made bolts that have threads only on the first section of the bolt, so they can secure the wash drum and not interfere with anything else. You also need the special sleeves for the bolts. I would not try to use standard bolts from a hardware store, as they could damage the wash drum if you overtightened them or they were too long. LG, and most washer manufacturers, don't publish the size, thread count and length of their transport (shipping) bolts, hence the reason they advise to keep them for future use.

So if you're only moving the washer down a set of stairs, you should be fine if you take it easy and either hand carry it with two (2) people, or use an appliance truck to move it down the stairs.

If, however, you're looking to move the washer any distance via truck, etc., you'll want the shipping transport bolts and sleeves to keep the drum and suspension system from getting damaged.

You're best bet is to get in touch with LG customer support and obtain a set of the transport bolts. You can reach them by callling them from 8AM to 8 PM toll free at 1-877 714-7486 and follow the prompts to reach customer support.

Here's a link to the owner's manual for your washer, just in case you've misplaced yours.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Machine wont start

Go back through the process that you performed. You may have miss a step of not connected somthing. Also you may want to make sue there is nothing in the pump. If a pingpong ball was in ther ther also may be some coins.

hiya m8 u need to take the lid off undue the first 2bolts on each side undue the bolts at the back and finally pull the plugs out off each side base and there will be a bolt undnerneath the plug now the complete back will come away letting u into the washer inners now u will have to undue the door seal from the front panel. Now there is a spring on each side at the top where u took the bolts from when u took the top off u will need a flat screw-driver to pop these out undue the electrical plugs from the motor, pump and anything else because u need to lift the drum completely out now undue all the bolts that go around the drum releasing both sides of the drum.Pull them apart now u need to undue the big bolt that holds the spider wheel on the back side of the drum place both hands on either side of this wheel and pull side to side until it pops off now u can pull the inner metal drum out u might need to hammer it a little with a rubber mallet once uve pulled it out u can get to the bearings one is behind a rubber seal these will need to be chiseled out this will be a hard job but sometimes u get lucky and they come out easy now to re-place them u will need some debor glue witch u can get from ebay and some metal red glue cant remember what its called at this time but u will get were u get the debor glue from put the metal glue around the outside of the bearings and make sure u do not get it on the inner bearing this will mess the bearings up now once the bearing kit is in u will need to put the debor glue all around the black rubber seal on both sides off this seal and place the inner drum back in tighten the spider back up and put both sides off the outer drum together again now tighten the bolts up again which go all the way around to fix outer drum together but 1st bolt should be then followed by the opposite bolt dont do the bolts up right next to each other because this will worp the drum slightly and it will leak now just put it all back together dont use for at least 3hours let all the glue that u have used go off this will stop it leaking at all this should take u at most 3hours to do an engineer will do it in half-hour this is the longest advice ive given ever so hope it goes well and happy fixing m8 let me know how u go on print this of it will be easier to follow next to u m8 peter

Kenmore 90 series washer

most likely the agitator dogs are bad. if the agitator engages clockwise and free spins counter clockwise they are good, if it slips they are bad. remove the bolt in the center of the agitator, take off cap or dispenser and remove the inner cap first. pull out the agitator, put on the floor, stand on the base of the agitator and pull up on the upper part to separate, take out the dog holder and replace dogs. Most appliance repair shops should have part on hand for about 5-6 dollars. part number 80040-fsp.
