Can not record channel 160? GoVideo only goes up to channel 125??

most dvd players have a region code and you must know what code yours is in, oryou can't play any dvd's, try and find your dvd code,by the way you can only change the code ,think it is 5 times , then it will stay in that code and cannot be changed.

I bought the VR3845 on a whim, at a local Costco because of the DVD/VHS combo feature and the price. After 7 months the VR3845 suddenly wouldn't read DVD's anymore, even ones I'd recorded the night before. The GoVideo Web site was of no help and I'm now facing wasting hours of my time to get a replacement or my money back, assuming I can.

Other "features", you can only switch recording channels at the minute. That means you record, say 8pm to 9pm on channel 5, but you can't program the unit to record from 9pm to 10pm on a different channel. The programming interface will only let you start the next recording on a new channel at 9:01PM, so you lose the first minute of your program.

At the end of a programmed recording session the VR3845 automatically shuts off. If you're watching another channel while recording, suddenly all you see is static until you power up the VR3845 again.

Sorry Man but this thing just isn't worth it I would take it back.

This is most likely because the recorder is connected to a cable box. When setting the timer recording feature with a cable box as the source, you are not actually selecting the channel to record. You are selecting the recording source. The cable box sends all of the channels to the recorder using RF channel 3. In this case, the channel for recording will be whichever channel is selected on the cable box.

To help me give you a more definite answer, please can you answer the following quick questions:

1. Are you using a cable box?
2. If using a cable box, how is it connected to the recorder?
3. What is the model number of the GoVideo recorder, e.g. DVR4000?

If your using digital cable it will only record channel 3 or 4 depending on what your cable box is set to...In order for it to record different channels it needs a cable source plugged directly into it. You will only be able to record standard cable channels 1-125. If it's digital cable forget about... you can only record it with channel 3/4 a solution to this would be using a 2nd digital box.. "auto-programming" may be limited even with a 2nd cable box. If your only using standard cable 1-125... you can use the TV/VCR button it will switch between the tuner of the TV & VCR allowing you to record while you watch a different show... keep in mind this won't work for digital channels which if I'm not mistaken comcast has already converted all channels to digital even basic.

U have a tube analog tv that going through a Digital converter box?Vcr signal are analog signal too.That why u getting the picture that bad.

You need to select channel 3 or 4 on your VCR! , or line-in if you connected through the (yellow/ white/ red) cable "better video quiality!" and selct the channel you want to record on your DTV box, not the VCR!

Try unpluging the unit and the plug it back in

First, you need to have the cable directly input into the recorder.

If you only plug the cable box into the machine, you get what is happening now.
After splitting the cable, one side into te box and the other into the recorder, run the channel seek part of the program and it will scan all the channels available on the cable and place them in memory.

Then plug the output of the cable box into the other input on the recorder, and you get yor pay channels and upper tiers.

Your recorder is now a switching unit as well

At a guess the device will only find channels it can detect. So what is your connection antenna or cable If antenna then all TV is line of sight and directional If cable - only the channel's the cable co supply will come down the wire.
