Question about Panasonic KX-TG2357 Cordless Phone
We came home and found our Panasonic KX-TG2357 unit inoperative. There were about six lights flashing and the display said E1. The handsets don't work, and the answering machine doesn't either. Our third phone, directly hooked to the phone cable and not to the answering machine, does work (and yes, we've had this setup for years - ever since we bought the Panasonic, and have had no probloems).
Of course, the manual doesn't talk about E1 and what to do about it.
I unplugged the AC adapter and plugged it back in. I disconnected the cordi nto the base unit and reconnected it. I unplugged the phone cable from the wall and plugged it back in. None of these intuitive things worked.
Any suggestions? Surely you have solved this problem before!

I have KX-TG2357 unit. Yesterday I had disconnected the
instrument as there was a function and we wanted space.
After the function I again connected the unit and plugged in.
The red light for charging is not seen. I am also not aware
whether the intstrument is getting charged or not. Kindly let
me know what to do.- as venkatachalam

I read about this, and while you were gone, if your power went out, try unplugging the batteries from the back of both phones for a few minutes & put them back in..I hope this helps!
