Question about Samsung SyncMaster 750S Monitor
My monitor has been in use for 8 years and is probably just old(?).I wanted to open it myself and try find out if there was something obvious to clean from inside but fortunately for the monitor and probably for me too, I never managed as there are no screws visible. How do you open the thing, wonder?
Thanks for any happy suggestions.
First, be aware that the flyback xformer can carry a 50,000 volt charge that can arc to anything grounded. Unless you are possitive the chasis is not hot, I'd forgo pulling it apart.
That said, if you turn the monitor on its face and remove the stand. You'll see two screws on the bottom corners of the monitor housing. Remove them. Next, turn the monitor upright with the screen facing you. you'll see two VERY small openings along the top edge of the monitor bezel. Insert a small flat-headed screw driver into each opening, and press gently down. You should hear the locking tabs release. DO NOT pry the case as you will damge it. With the screws out and tabs released, the case will easily break apart.
