Oven Knob all of sudden shuts oven off at 300 degree mark not "off"

I turned the oven on and when I went to turn it off it didn't shut off at the "off" mark, after playing with it I finally got it to turn off around the "300" mark. I checked the inside of the knob and it is not cracked or slipping.

Re: Oven Knob all of sudden shuts oven off at 300 degree...

The inside part that locks the shaft to the controls is loose.
it can be fixed. but will take some ingenuity.
you will have to take the control completely apart to get to the loose area, walmart has some plastic glue that comes in a 2part tube for 4.00 that can repair most plastics and provide fill a the same time.
or just order another control if you can find a place that has it.

I have a JennAir Model JES9860BAS and the oven don't work

Well it probably is a faulty control but before ya blow any money on an oven control check the oven sensor. If it is open or grounded to the frame then the control cannot read the voltage sent through the oven sensor and know to shut down.

Check the breaker pannel or fuse box. The elements work on 220 volts the lights on 120 volts. If this doesn't help repost and well try again

Oven temp will not go above 300 degrees

You need to check the thermostat in the oven. Go to your manufacturer's web site and download the technical manual for your stove. There should be a troubleshooting section in the manual. If not, and you are somewhat handy...

1. Disconnect the power from the stove.
2. Locate the thermostat and jumper it out.
3. Reconnect power to the stove and turn on the oven.
4. Wait a few minutes and see if the temperature goes above 300 degrees. If it does, replace the thermostat. If it does not, order a service call.

Don't forget to shut off the power again and remove the jumper.

Tappan Oven #MEF500PBWD heating unevenly

Perhaps the item you are using to check temperatures is not accurate. I my line of work, I use a digital thermometer which records immediate temperature. Perhaps understanding the process will help you see more accuracy in the way you read the temperature in your oven. Allow me to offer this explanation....First of all, place your thermometer near on the top rack as close to the oven temperature probe as possible. This probe is the focal point for your oven and detects the temperature and opens the electrical circuit to turn off the element when the desired set temperature is attained. Set your electric oven to 300 degrees and hopefully, you have a window in your oven to watch. The bake element will come on and the temperature will rise until it reaches 300 degrees. It is at this point when your oven bake indicator light should go out. When this happens....look inside. The element is still bright orange and emitting heat and will continue to raise the temperature in the oven to approximately 325 - 340 degrees. With this noted, you will see the temperature beginning to drop 315, 310, 300, 295, 290, 285 perhaps even 280 or some even lower to 275 and then the indicator lamp will go on indicating the circuit has closed thus turning on the element, Finally there is a variance and no range GAS or ELECTRIC will ever maintain a even 300 degree temperature. The calibration set point is based on the 300 degrees. If your oven light goes off within 20-25 degrees of three hundred degrees, your oven is already calibrated pretty close and I would not attempt to adjust it at all.

Frigidaire FGF378AC Gas Stove

There are 2 possibilities:
1) Are there 2 knobs to control the oven? If so, they may be switched.
2) Depending on the thermostat used, it may be possible to put the knob on upside down.
