Have 1985 f-150 has a qt.tank gas which has been sitting for aprox 4 yrs. i did not get it out and have tryed to start trk. now do what? .is there some way to get injectors clean after i get the old gas out.

If it sat for 3 yrs without starting then chances are it is the fuel. I belive most of the older toyotas had a drain on the gas tank, I would reccomend draining the gas and replacing the fuel filter to start with, just keep in mind that if it has an electric fuel pump there is a good possibility that it has gone bad from sitting. P.S. if there is no drain and you can't get the fuel pump to work and pump out all the old gas then I would suggest getting a universal fuel pump to remove all the old gas, or you can try to syphon the gas out and is a pain. 4 yr old fuel may give youe headaches as it may have deteriorated and absorbed moisture, drain it and replace the filter,

that would be on the drivers side under the trk on the rear of engine and on the front of trans, a round 4" diameter cylinder aprox 8" long

Ethanol really causes problems in cars that sit around.Thanks for us going green huh?It decomposes non-metal parts in the gas system.If the car sits around for something like 6 weeks the gas does go bad.You have to siphon the tank as much as possible.When filling up,add octane boost first then gas.It still may not work though.I did all that for a scooter and it still didn't work.So if you try it,when you add gas,probably only use 4 or 5 gallons,so you don't waste too much money if it doesn't work,and it is enough to mix the octane boost fairly well.Good luck bro'!That's all i have for now.And gas is gas no matter where you buy it.All those additives the companies claim clean this or that is just sales.Since fuel injection came out,companies are required to add a certain amount of detergent to keep injectors clean anyways.And 93 octane is not better than 87 octane enough to pay 20 cents more per gallon.

I do not know what year your truck is but I would remove the ignition module from inside the distributer and remove the rotor so you would have access to the module. Take the module to oreillys and have them test it. Sometimes they make the car act like the car is running out of gas.

Change your fuel filter, it may have gone it's life time and is getting to dirty to let fuel flow properly. Your fuel pump to may be getting weak, if the fuel filter is dirty the pump works harder and heats up and could be over heating the fuel pump relay too. The fuel pump relay i believe is in the glove box behind a panel that say relay, there should be (3) in there and the middle one is the fuel pump's. switch then around after you change the fuel filter and if you get a chance, check your fuel pressure at the shredder valve. Good luck and hope this help's if there is a Auto Zone around you, you can ask to use the fuel pressure gauge to see what fuel pressure you have and they'll have the step by step instructions on how to do it and takes about 5 min to do and will have the fuel filter and step by step to replace that too. After sitting 2 years, there must have been some fuel in tank that has probably gone real bad (like shellac) and contaminated the fuel system, plugged up filter etc. Usually rust will form in tank, mixed with stale fuel, it will turn just like mud.

4 years is a problem try empting the gas tank. and put the supreme gas in it on a full tank. check the coolent fluid and if problem still exsist check the fan

just hit the tank in the middle with a hammer and see if it starts use the flat side of the hammer

Why. You will find the fluids hold up very well except gas which will evaporate off the light ends and make it hard to start. I would just add some Chevron fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank & add a fresh tank of gas to whats in there.
