Cannot locate a manual that shows how to replace the heater blend door - 2006 Chevy Equinox

either a blend door stuck or temperature control unit gone bad ---also try disconnecting the harness make sure contacts /pins are clean and in good shape and reconnect but more than likely blend door stuck

behind engine, beside brake booster, fairly low.
attached link says wiring harness but also shows heater core tube sticking out of firewall.

The blend door will close off heat when it is facing heater core

My ac works, but my heater blows cold air. Is there any way I can replace actuator by going thru the glove compartment?

I am not a mechanic but I can tell you the problem is with the blend door actuator and the blend door valve. Unfortunately the entire dash has to be removed to get to the heater case and replace the blend door. This seems to be a very common problem with the 2005 & 2006 Equinox. I just got mine out of the shop, luckily my extended warranty covered it. Research this online, there are plenty of posts about the problem.

Change the temperature of the air and see if the temperature changes. If it doesn't change, then you probably have a bad blend door.

It is in the dash. You need to drop the steering column and remove the dash to reach it.....approx 10.5 hrs mechanical labor just for the dash.......

Pull the instrument panel (dash board), remove the HVAC case, disassemble the HVAC case and replace broken door (G.M. Part #19130554) and reassemble. The job takes an experienced mechanic about 8.5 hours with air tools and electric screw guns, and costs about $1050.00 (including evacuating and recharging the A/C system.

If the blower is blowing air just fine, but you cannot control the temperature, you need to listen to air coming from the vents while turning the temperature from hot to cold. If you do n ot hear any change in airflow, then you may a temperature door in the dash broken. this is becoming a common problem on the Equinox
