Component inputs are for video only, and when connected through a receiver then the television also must have a video input coming to it from the video out from the receiver. If you want audio that will be a separate connection from the xbox to the receiver either by digital coaxial cable or optical cable, or composite.

Denon AVR-2802 Optical Issue

If you look at page 16 of the user manual it tells you how to assign the devices to the optical connections. Once this is done it should work.
If you don't have the manual just type "denon avr 2802 manual" into Google and it will show a free PDF file of it. On my search it came up first!

Actually, Denon used a thermal fuse in the primary of the power transformer. Have a tech check the primary winding and see if it's open. if so , have it bypassed

Hi, I have a denon 2802 av receiver. My Dolby decoder seems broken, the doby-display-indiactor is blinking as soon as a dolby signal is receiced. resettting doesn't help. DTS is still working. Anaybody...

The processor that creates the surround is all on 1 chip so sounds like a software issue.

Call Denon to see if they have a firmware update for your unit this usually is free and may fix the problem

I have a denon 2802 av receiver, i bought it second hand and I can't seem to get the component video in / out working. Are you supposed to just plug it in and it works? Because I can't find any buttons or settings to select component in / out as my input / output sources?

Denon 2802 amp

Dear Armani,

You cannot put de leads from an MP3 player or your TV into the pre-amplified connection of your Denon,
the phono "stage" is a low input stage, your input from MP3, TV, CD, DVD oscasetteplayer is high output (a 5 to 10 times stronger signal)
Try every other stage like tape 1 or 2, this will work just fine,

Pc to denon av 2802

You can use an auxiliary input on your Denon. What type of connection is available on the sound card? Some models have toslink while most have the mini-jacks which will require an adapter (mini-jack to RCA) which you can connect to the AUX input on your Denon. On the computer, make sure the LINE-OUT of the sound card is activated.
